Okay, so as to plans and such for our characters: I have no plans. None of them. Quite honestly, this whole RP is making my head hurt a bit, with all the new mechanics being introduced that I have no idea how they work. I have no plans to do anything with Brosprite's dreamself; is there any way he can just not be there so I don't have another headache to deal with? I'm sorry that I haven't been posing as much as everyone else; this thing is just really daunting, and hearing SF and GS IRL talk about their plans doesn't help (no offense, guys).
I guess what I'm saying is that I'm just going to focus on building Don and only Don.

I'm just going to inform everyone that I'm not going to be on tomorrow and that I'm probably not going to be on for Friday. I've got an overnight trip that I'm going on, so that's an explanation to my lack of posts for those days. Sorry about the lurch that'll put you in, GS.
Also, CT, if you really want to get rid of Brosprite's dreamself you can say that he went to Derse for whatever reason and got on the wrong side of a Derse agent. Or that he was assassinated on Prospit. Or, if you haven't shown him yet, he could just have died during the session before we showed up. On a different note, I believe that the Scratch Construct (Dave's is specifically called the Beat Mesa, that's not the name for them all) is always the same in appearance to the Time player's time travel device (I.E. Dave's Turntables/Beat Mesa, Damara's floaty-crystal-music-box-machine/Cardinal Movement). This means two things- 1) It'll have to be named something different, and 2) DON used METRONOME! DON used ROAR OF TIME!

Mneh, I just remember Sf telling me it was called the Beat Mesa. I'll look it up later and change it if necessary.

Okay, TG. Sorry you have to be gone for a couple days and all; we'll miss you terribly while you're gone. For the meantime though, since you are giving us a bit of a warning in advance, could you put your character into a situation where Ben WON'T be stuck in a lurch? Having your realself die seems like a good opportunity to take a small break from writing, since it's easy to say that your character is just doing Derse things for a while, but you immediately found your way back into a situation where, if you suddenly stopped responding, GS wouldn't be able to do anything since he's currently interacting with your character.
Perhaps you can just tell us in this thread what your character is going to do, or how GS should expect your character to act? Since Ben is stuck on Ness's world, it's sort of forcing the two of them together. dementedDamsel made a point that any Unbreakable Unions might run the risk of one player not responding as often, which would lead to the exact situation that I fear is about to occur. Good call, DD.

SF---> Thanks for the compliant, SF! I figured situations like the one GS and TG are having right now would happen eventually. Hopefully you two can find someway to work around it.
Anyhow, I just wanted to ask you fella's for your opinion on my pesterlogs. I been scanning through everyone else's, and I think the Award for, WAY TO LONG LOGS, goes to me. I think their overly long length may be weakness of mine and wanted to know if any of you honestly agree. I personally really like the format of pesterlogs and think their a neat narrative device, that are really enjoyable to write. But hey, if they all sound like, BLAH, BLAH, exposition. BLAH, BLAH, will this guy get on with it. BLAH, BLAH, to many unneeded words. Then I would really want to know your honest opinion.
You can't improve without constructive criticism after all, right.
EDIT---> Ouch, TG. I really feel for you. Losing all that material because of a shitty computer, makes you want to throw the damn thing out and become a Luddite. Hope your not using Explorer.

Ah, yes, I've had the same problem TG. Had a grudge against my computer for a while for that; an hour of writing destroyed by a single mis-click, or sometimes just rotten luck. I've been writing all of my posts in a second text document since them. Took a kick in the pants like that to get me into the habit.
As for your pesterlogs, DD, I always just assumed that the rambling was one of your character's quirks. She's a SBURB veteran after all, so it would make sense that she would develop a tendency to 'impart as much knowledge' as possible. Aside from that, I can see your worries; sometimes it just seems implausible that a character would be able to type for that long without getting a response. It shouldn't really matter all too much, but I guess it would be helpful to take the amount of time it takes to type into account. Aside from the time factor, I couldn't see any reason why Elsa WOULDN'T converse the way she has. Blood = Social Ties ~= Social Interaction ~= Talking. I suppose if you wanted to change SOMETHING, I would say to make it a bit more brief if the character is pressed for time, or all-in-all vary the amount of text your character writes based on what's actually happening around her. Is pestering someone -hands free or not- more difficult when you're jetpacking around? Is Elsa trying to get a point across, or simply making conversation? How important does she feel the current topic is? Just throwing out a couple questions that might help to think about if you're looking to improve the pesterlog 'problem', as you put it.
Is there anything in particular any of you feel Chase could be improved upon? As long as we're asking for constructive criticism.

INCOMING RANT ALERT Okay... not to be a huge dick, but I'm about to be a huge dick.
TG, we need to talk. This latest development of Ness'... I call complete and utter bullshit. I realize that you're just doing stuff that was done in the anime, and that's cool... in any other situation. There's a time and a place for everything, and really, this is not the time nor the place to be copying an anime, considering you're playing a DREAMS PLAYER, WHOSE VERY THING IS ORIGINAL IDEAS! I should have said something when you started pulling stuff from your deck to use as your attacks and having them be effective. Remember that part in the FAQ when GGtG described a Dreams combo and then said "no, wait, don't do that because now that I've described it it would do shit damage?" Well that's pretty much what should be happening with your Duel Monster-based attacks. Furthermore, having totally-not-Joey-I-promise as your Sprite is not helping your case. And now, with the addition of your "Duel Energy," which no one else has, by the way, you have taken your character and made him more special then everyone else. Also, you have not explained what Duel Energy is or what it does. Or, for that matter, what the Spirit Revival is. And that's not what SBURB is about. If we were to continue down this path, then everyone else wold have to completely alter their characters' backstories in order to come up with some sort of similar thing, and no matter how much we joke about it, Homestuck is not an anime! Finally, Dream players do not get "knocked out." The only way they fall unconscious unwillingly is if they either die or sleep in a Quest Bed. I'm assuming that you can go to sleep normally, but I dunno. Being KO'd by your own Dreams ability seems, once again, counter to what Dreams does.
Look, I'm sorry that this probably came off as a mean-spirited attack, but we're veering into Bad Writing territory, and I do not want to have any part in that. What I'm trying to get at here is that you're going to be doing the Dreams thing, you're going to have to start coming up with your own original ideas. It's probably fine that you use Yu-Gi-Oh as a base to go off of, but you'd have to make some severe alterations from there to get any kind of effectiveness from your character.
In unrelated news, I've fixed the link in my post so it directs to the proper page.

Come on, now. Let's all play nice here. Now, CT, I trust and respect your internet onions, and while TG has been using elements from the popular anime, that's not to say that that is WRONG, let alone what you would call 'bad writing'. Besides, who honestly cares about bad writing? We're essentially writing fanfiction set in the universe of a fanfiction based off of a webcomic about a video game. I would assume in this part of the internet we would have thrown away all semblance of self-respect for the sake of fun, and party poopers and grammar nazis don't have much of a place here. We're all here to enjoy ourselves, and I don't see how TG's character having this 'Duel Energy' or the mysterious 'Spirit Revival' would hamper that. It's already canon that other races exist with supernatural powers, so why wouldn't there be another race of humans that do as well? Unless Ness suddenly gets the ability to blast through entire planets and tear reality a new asshole, I don't see- Ah, wait. He's a Waste of Dreams. Wastes have a tendency of doing that. Well, unless he can suddenly do that WITHOUT his classpect combo, I don't see how it would be such a hamper for anyone else. His character is special, sure. Every character is special. I understand asking him to tone it down a bit if his writing choices upset you, but please, keep the insults at a minimum here. I'm trying to be the best auspistice I can be, but a little effort on your part would be appreciated. I'm, of course, only stepping in to defend TG because he will be gone for the next two days, and I'd rather not have him come back to a shitstorm that had been brewing since he left.

Sigh. I suppose you're right. My apologies, TG. I didn't mean to be so harsh. My point about using Duel Monsters as your attacks still stands, though. Maybe try building new creatures using existing ones? If you make them different enough, I think that might be enough to do the Dreams thing, or at least as far as [Living the Dream] is concerned.
Also, SF, did... did you just ship SF o8<(CT,TG)?

If you lovebirds don't mind me adding my two cents, this is actually a good opportunity for Ness to grow as a character. As a Dream player Ness is supposed to come up with his own stuff, and must do so on the fly. Using something more than once will result in the attack becoming more and more weak. However, Dreams are not complete creativity, that's more a Rain thing. Dreams are and I quote from the FAQ "Dream refers to infinite creative potential running through a complex system." Well I'd say that Yu-Gi-Oh is pretty complex. All the different cards, attacks and effects that you can throw together to get all kinds of shenanigans. We all saw in TG's latest post that to really do good you have to get creative. I'd say that for Ness the card game is a good place to start for him. Eventually as he gets the hang of his aspect more, he might branch out. Keep in mind though that just copying something will result in poor attacks, so I would say that Ness could make up his own stuff to fit within the complex system of Yu-Gi-Oh. If so, TG if yo have any personal head canon or ideas for monsters of your own, go crazy!
What do you guys think?

I agree. Also, how much should I work on with Miles? As in, what do I need to improve on?

I think that's an excellent observation and idea, GS. Once TG returns from his trip, I think he'll be delighted to know that there are some new ideas like that floating around for his character.
As for Miles, I would like for him to be more narrated. So far, every post having to do with Miles tends to boil down to "Meanwhile, here's what Miles is doing". Little snippets of his current situation that are almost out of context, really. I think it would be better for the narrative to follow the character chronologically, so we can all follow along. In addition, I'm a little off-put by where Miles is supposed to be going as a character. He started out as a coward, which was very interesting, and at some point off-screen he turned into a brash warrior that charges everything. While it's perfectly fine, of course, I'm confused as to the point of when that happened. It almost seems like a complete character shift, without any context as to the reason why. Obviously there IS a reason, but that would have been a great opportunity to elaborate on Miles as a character.
All-in-all, the character himself is fine, but I think it would be better if you, and I feel like a teacher for saying this, "increased your word count".
(Still waiting on input for Chase, if anyone has any...)
