New Guy Wondering What's Going On

The thread-title says it all, and I'm probably throwing this in the wrong forum/group/thing, but...

I've looked around a bit, and I don't quite know if there's a 'template' for character creation, restrictions (Besides the obvious 'no stupid-powered'), or what have you. It doesn't help that I've been out of RP-ing for... well, over a year, but I frankly don't know what I'm doing or where to start.

Can someone drop in to help me out? Or... direct me somewhere? Maybe?

No, not really. My best suggestion would be under Character Help, where you should browse some of the other user's players.

Hmmmmmm, let's see.

Well, there's the no-canon-chars-plz rule (the only person who is still canon is Rose as tentacleTherapist who wrote that guide, went grimdark, and died as a relatively unknown person and may or may not have done canon in some other sense that affects nothing, and John Egbert may have done something somewhere irrelevantly via canonshifting), only oblique references to Lord English (read: He's busy wrecking the Horrorterrors' shifty things in another area entirely miles away from even the rampaging cracks in reality).

Here are some suggestions you might want to look at.

1. What is this person like who are/were they before the game eated them alive and then now, also what they look like and name/handle and preferences, standard character concept concerns (CCC maybe?) all that jazz. Basic character stuff.
2. What's their native classpect if it wasn't dealt with in part 1 and thus how do they interpret Sburb's shenaniganicals? Pretty much everyone on this forum is a Sburb player for obvious reasons. I'm not because I'm the equivalent of a horrorterror spambot because the forums are undefended, and a complaint device for various other Sburban abstractions, and one guy merged with the Mayor version of WV to replay as Jack Noir.
3. What are their default abstractions? Fetch modus, strife specibus, all that jazz. Any skillsets and powers you want to add?
4. Where are they now sessionwise? Second? Third? Still in first? Some other number? Now, what's going on with them? Are they actively playing? Stuck in wait mode due to arrival of entities? Current classpect? Anything you want to do with them as characters?
