angelicAtoner (aA) created thread Angels and Others: The Grim and Noble Dark and Bright on board AU Chat at 1341 hours.
aA: Josephine here. Today, the Angel is going to teach you about the differentiation of the Angels and the Others, and exactly what all the grimdark-noblebright stuff is.
aA: Yes, I'm actually an Angel. Yes, influence is can be toggled on and off.
aA: In short: the Angels and the Others can be split into smaller groups.
aA: Both the Angels and the Others have a sub-class known as the Ocular Grunts. These creatures are peppered with and/or just an eye. On the side of the Horrorterrors, we have the underlings known as Demon Eyes and Wandering Eyes. Many of the Horrorterror leaders are composed mostly of eye, like the Eye of Cthulhu and the Twins, Spazmatism and Retinazer.
aA: The Angels have many eye creatures, too. In the underling class, we have the Winged Blinker, the Winged Walker, and the Blinking Walker. The Walker Ocular grunts walk by moving tentacles. We also have the bosses Eye Tyrant (a walker) and Sky Cobra (a flyer.)
aA: Then we get to the cool stuff. The Horrorterrors are comprised of two main groups: the Crimson and the Formless. The Crimson enemies are the Ichor Sticker and the Floaty Gross, as well as the Portal Worm and the Chomper Demon. These guys are led by the Brain of Cthulhu. The Formless are often called Squiddles or Shoggoths. (This group contains both.) They are led by Fluthulhu.
aA: On the Angelic side, we have the Seraphium, the Wyvern, the Hallow, and the Weeping. The Weeping Angels are about the nicest psychopaths you'll ever meet: they feed on your time, so you die of old age. Of course, that means you can go around NOT GIVING A DAMN if you die, because then you just went from a disastrous situation to a peaceful one, because that's a paradox and it kills Weeping Angels.
aA: The Weeping Angels look like stone statues. A picture of one is in itself an Angel. They're quantum-locked to become invincible, immobile statues if you look at them (although Flesh players get to have some real fun with these guys, because they have a metric fucktonne of rare Underworld and common Build Grist. It's also fun to have a shield that can BLOCK A RED MILES. We have not tested it with the Green Miles.)
aA: The Hallow Angels comprise of the Illuminant Hearts (betentacled glowing purple hearts,) the Gastropods and the Fairies (little yellow balls of light with wings.) These guys fly in the air. The Gastropods only swarm at night, meaning you'd better dodge if you're tired.
aA: The Seraphium look like me: a wingedhumanoid bipedaloid creature with great wings from the waist up. Below the waist, we dissolve into a cloud of light. We are led by a Sephrioth.
aA: The Wyverns are more closely related to Luckdragons, long flying dogs. They are led by a Cherub in its snake form.
aA: Then we get to the HEAVENBRANDED. These guys are elites in the forces. And I mean THE ELITES. Leaders. That kind of thing.
aA: The leader of the Others is a being known as Chuxtoepose, the Magnificent. The leader of the Angels is a one-winged heart by the name and title of Sephiran, the Precarious Guardian Archangel.
aA: I've heard of other Horrorterror and Angel entities, like the legendary Yiazmat and the Feeder of Pain (the only one I know for sure is a Horrorterror and not an Angel.)
aA: Then we get to the issues of Grim versus Noble and Dark versus Bright. It's easier to see like Chaos versus Law and Good versus Evil.
aA: At the Grimdark side we have the Ignitions, evil creatures made of dark iron and magma that are powered by the fires of the Green Sun. These guys are the Chaotic Evil type.
aA: At the Noblebright side we have the Sylvari, magical plant-fairie warriors. They are always struggling to survive ever since the Ignitions came and nearly wiped them all out. These guys are decidedly Lawful Good.
aA: The Horrorterrors are Nobledark: Lawful Evil horrors that aren't out-and-out wanting to destroy the universe, just sit back with a bucket of popcorn and laugh at the people piddle around.
aA: The Angels are the Grimbright: creatures that are Chaotic Good. They're not paragons of all that we hold dear, they'd rather take a nap or play Chess with the people that are piddling around: sometimes making the right move, sometimes not.
aA: Anyway, looks like it's time for me to go fight the Iron Forgeman in Moltara again. I think NoLegs just went down, and they want me to replace him in combat.
