I was talking with saintsRedemption on Skype and we were talking about God Ascension and he asked what would happen if someone died on someone else's god ascension slab (which probably have a better name but eeeh).
Nothing and permadeath are probably the most likely answers but a proposition of a merged God Tier arose.
Probably merged in the sense of horrible abomination.
But anyway, discuss.

My first idea at the time was
Scout + Knight = Krount/Count And Time+Space would I guess equal something like Void?
So basically Count of Void.
I guess if Space/Time were Tier 1 Aspects, so would Void be. Maybe Count would end up as a Knight/Scout tier. So Count would be Tier 2.
Of course, this is just a speculation.

Given that it's supposed to be a huge taboo to sleep on someone else's Quest Bed (that's the canon name for it), and most players would have the sense to deliver a dead/dying person to their proper Quest Bed, I don't think this would happen too often.
My thoguhts are, if the bed did have a reaction, it'd cause you to take the role (Smith, Bard, ect) part of the Quest Bed's owner while keeping your aspect. So, say you're the Page of Time, and your derpy friend chucks you on the Dame of Hope's bed when you get stabbed beyond healing. You ascend as the Dame of Time and the session has a mental issue because suddenly there's two Dames and no Page.

I believe the "default" reaction would be that the person dies, but I could see this kind of phenomenon causing glitches of all sorts, like the ones you are talking about.
Alternatively, sleeping on quest beds in situations that would result in your eìdeath is exile-prohibited

I think it would be a normal death. It would be quite obvious, cause there would be no lightplay. If the Player has a Dreamself he can be normally revived by a kiss.
But yeah, a glitch can happen, but it's really rare, and there are not that many people who are whishing to experiment.

I'd have figured you ascended as normal, actually.
Just because the beds are designated for a specific person doesn't mean they can only be used by that person.

I think the idea is that it can only be used by that person, what with the aspect symbol on it and it being on that person's personal planet. I could see the Mist aspect causing bugs with this though. If you could ascend on someone else's quest bed, it would probably give you their aspect; since judging by the appearance of the beds, the aspect is the main way they're differentiated. I don't really see sburb allowing that though; at the very least that planet's consorts would attempt to stop you from approaching the quest bed.

My headcannon? It changes between games, but either way it's glitchy as hell. Expect all sorts of problems if you do it.

My focus is to explain silly details of the autistic kind. Stuff like:
•Explaining why John's consorts freely told him to take a Legendary Nap on his Quest Bed when Vriska claims later that god tiering is a very secret thing that she discovered by plundering minds. •Explaining why there is an exact copy of a quest bed, down to the aspect symbol, on Skaia. We might have only seen it once for 2 seconds in the middle of a flash, I don't care. I wanna expand on details. That's how I roll. •Explaining why Vriska's dreamself was teleported during god tiering, and probably John's too.
Aside from mechanical details, I just wanna add some sort of restriction on how to catch the tiger. I can't make an earnest attempt at worldbuilding if there is an auto-win button. I like extropianDreamer's idea that the process is convoluted by many glitches. Everybody likes video game bugs. The fic doesn't have enough of 'em.

My idea was that the God Tiers were a glitch that got canon'd by some dumbass developer a while back.
Then again it's probably never going to get used, so...

I totally support the "mixed aspect" theory. And I have a little piece of canon to back me up on this one. f0.bcbits.com/z/37/78/377816929-1.jpgThis guy. Mobius Trip. His outfit has the Breath's blue and the light's yellow and symbol. Now, that could just be a sign of Prospit, but I'm not sure. It seems to me like some sort of hybrid god-tier, possibly from a culture with gods of dual nature. Trolls showed god hoodies changed depending on the culture that gains them, so it's possible (especially from Hadron wearing similar, but in different patterns) that this is how their culture's gods would be.
