new character help?

So I had a sudden idea for a character, and I have most of their stuff worked out. Got a name, a handle, typing quirk, and a bit of the universe they are from. The hard part is the personality. I know I like the title Bane of Light, but I'm curious as to what would make it so someone had that title, or maybe I need a better understanding of how the title might work? I'm not sure my question is very clear ieither. lol

Bane is a title of those who champion others' beliefs. Light is the aspect of good fortune and freedom.

Someone who rolls that would be someone who doesn't act on their convictions, or stand up for what they believe in, and who has a preference for restrictions and a history of bad luck
