Since I read the Sburb Glitch FAQ, I've been interested in the mechanics of being a Seer of Void. A comprehensive knowledge of lack-of-knowledge - how would that even work? Part of the traits of Void seems to be something like 'being dismissed by people around you.' So I guess the Void-Seer combination would make you a sort of Cassandra. Like, you could make these uncanny predictions (involving what not to do or gaps in knowledge) but you have a hard time explaining them to people so they understood and believed you (void communication issues).
I thought this could be pretty interesting and even workable, so I started developing a character. But as his history and personality have come together, I started getting all confused - specifically about passive v active class assignment.
So, he's got all the crazy admixture of repression and hubris
that a void/tactician seems to call for. And I've cooked up some glitchy void shit that will absolutely drive him mad with frustration, as well as some sweet ideas for how he can overcome it. He is primed to have his self-delusion ripped to shreds.
Here's the thing: Deep down he's the kind of person who wants to start jumping in and meddling with things and learn as he goes. He'd love to impulsively take stuff apart to see how it works and never read the manual. So, would Sburb stick him with a Seer role to teach him a lesson? Or does that make him a natural Sage? Does it depend on how much he's given into this urge in his previous life?
Anyone seen or worked with this combination before? Any words of wisdom would be helpful.
Second, unrelated question: How do people usually go about assigning characters to Prospit or Derse? Is the Space character always a Prospit dreamer? My Void character is definitely a Derse dreamer, I'm just trying to get the rest of his first session straightened out.
