GC: That pain you are fee ing is the real de l, I don't know h w else to describe it to you, if you die in th s game, you die for real. L ke that old saying, " f you die in Canada you die in real life." I'd recommend " lchemizing" some bandages, or calling fo help. I'm go ng to rec mmend the callin for help cuz if you're b eeding enough to pass out you m y need ser ous help.
AT: I can appr ciate you are jus ifiyably irate with your cop ayers for dragg ng you in by fo ce. I re ember when I was a in sess on one, still pos ed in the logs, and I was te rified and unhap y with my situa ion. I'm on y just st rting to get comfo table with the kno ledge my la e girlfri nd was my "Pr -entry Protot ping" back then. Un ortunately you're in the s me bo t as the rest of us. I'm wi ling to talk to you pr vately sin e I kn w a lot of what you a e feeling.
AA: D you have any info ation on CG? If she's be ng cryp ic then th t soun s more "M nd" than "D om". I'm won ering if there may b some way she's e ering from an ther time or place. Any oth r thoughts on this are wel ome.
Also if e ther of you ha a free mom nt h re soon I say go check on GC cuz he ma be in trouble.

TO: AT
CALM DOWN, KID. WHAT'S DONE IS DONE, NO POINT GETTING ANGRY ABOUT IT.
ALSO, I'M PRETTY SURE YOU MADE GC'S IPAD EXPLODE, THUS SEVERELY INJURING HIM! YOU MUST LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR TEMPER, BECAUSE AS A [Rage] PLAYER, ANGER IS YOUR WEAPON, AND YOU DON'T WANT TO DIRECT IT AT FRIENDS.
IF YOUR WONDERING WHAT THE FUCK I'M TALKING ABOUT, THEN READ GG'S "Sburb glitch FAQ".
ALSO, THE FACT YOU CAN'T CONTACT ANYONE BUT YOUR CO-PLAYERS IS NORMAL. AFTER ALL, YOUR PLANET HAS BEEN STERILIZED BY METEORS, AND YOU ARE ALL THAT REMAINS OF THE HUMAN RACE. IN YOUR UNIVERSE, AT LEAST. DON'T START WHINING ABOUT IT TO US, THOUGH. WE HAVE ALL HAD TO DEAL WITH SIMILAR SITUATIONS. THE GAME ALWAYS KILLS THE PLAYERS CIVILIZATION AT THE START.
NOW GO HELP GC ALREADY! HE HAS JUST HAD THE EQUIVALENT OF A MINIATURE GRENADE EXPLODE IN HIS HAND. HE IS MOST LIKELY MISSING AN ARM, OR AT LEAST MOST OF IT. HE NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION NOW! OR, IF YOU DON'T GET TO HIM IN TIME FOR THAT, A KISS REVIVE. NO, I'M NOT JOKING ABOUT THAT. SO HURRY UP AND HELP THE KID!

Oh son of a hell. Is there some rule somewhere that everything has to go wrong at exactly the same time?
Okay, to forestall worrying, I think things are okay. I think if not for cleverGryphon we'd all be dead, but things are okay. Semi-sorta.
So here's how it all went down. I was finally able to raise cleverGryphon on Pesterchum and was sitting down to explain to her in detail what she'd be going through when she started playing. I was just starting to explain about the run for the first gate when suddenly she's like "Get away from your computer now!" Well, I've known cG long enough to jump when she says hop, so I ripped off my new compu-glasses and tossed them at a wall. Seconds later, they explode. What is it with me and computers, anyway? I guess from reading the above posts that it was aT flipping out. Kinda scary that she can do that. But there's not much about her that doesn't scare me (Seriously? 2xboxcutterkind should not be an abstratus that strikes fear into ones' heart, but I've seen what's left of the imps she gets her hands on...).
Well, bad luck with computers or not, this time it turns out it was good luck - the explosion left a whole in my wall, which means the freaking NINJA that was about to murder me lost the element of surprise. On that note, I think I must have triggered some kind of crazy hard optional boss fight. I've never seen a monster like this before - it's dressed kinda like a ninja, complete with that weird mask they wear, except the costume is kinda weird (hard to explain... it's like some kind of anime-ninja or something, it's got a weird cape-looking thing) and except for the mask it's teal instead of black.
Whatever this weird monster was, it was creepily silent - barely made any sound at all, like a real ninja I guess lol - and came at me with a wicked sharp katana. Or maybe a nodachi? I don't know my Japanese swords very well. Anyway, fighting this thing was... it was weird. Like, I got the feeling that I was a lot stronger than it, you know? Like if I could just pin it down and hit it the fight would be over. But it was like the damn thing was psychic or something - it knew everything I was going to do, and already had a counter ready. I thought it was just really good luck at first, but I think it really had planned the whole fight out. Like it would shoot these blasts of lightning out of its sword, you know? And early in the fight it randomly blasted at me but missed and hit my bed instead, sending it flying out my window. And I just thought it must have finally screwed up an attack.
But then, luck be damned, five minutes later I finally land a hit on the thing, send it flying out of my house... and it lands on my freaking bed and barely takes a scratch! I knocked it into like the spikeyest section of rock around and it landed on the BED! What are the chances?
Anyway, the whole fight was like that - it was like it was conciously forcing me to fight on its terms, taking away all my options until I had to fight where it had the advantage. Longest, hardest fight of my life so far - I'd be dead if I hadn't had that bit of advance warning.
Finally, when I figured out what it was doing... well, I kinda just lost it. Maybe my Exile was messing with me, I don't know, but I suddenly got the crazy idea to just start acting completely at random. I didn't try to fight effectively - hell, I didn't even focus my attacks on it anymore. I just did as much random unpredictable crap as I could, whatever came to mind the instant it came to mind. It seemed to totally freak the ninja thing out and throw it off balance, it finally retreated. I have this feeling it'll be back, though. It's kinda got me freaked out.
Anyway, I found out that cG managed to get in contact with aT and somehow convinced her to go through her second gate (I guess aT was farther than we thought?). So aT got to gC and patched him up. So everything is fine.
Except there's some kind of secret uberboss ninja hunting me, on top of everything else that's wrong with our session. Yay.

aT, as a native of it, allow me to tell you about Rage, Rage is the aspect of authority, emotions, and control, see those last two? You have to CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS especially as a caster like a Witch.
As a Witch of Rage, you should get the most out of these abilities: [Because I Said So]: a basic "giving orders" ability, nothing special.
[Ready to Die]: a mid game "berserking" ability, good for dealing with groups of large groups of imps.
[Kneel Before Zod]: forces an enemy to kneel before you, not very useful.
[Room 101]: a late game ability that terrifies the target to the point they surrender.
[Ministry of Love]: The Rage + heart Unite Synchronization, great effect, but disturbing to watch.
Try to avoid casting: : just don't, it's not a pretty picture.
[2 + 2 = 5]: not even imps deserve that.

Yes, actually, there is a rule that says that everything needs to get fucked up at once. The first rule of Sburb is "Everything can and will get worse". And making an enemy kneel is actually useful. Brings their head at just the right height for decapitation.

there fine aA. you twisted my arm and made me feel bad for hurting gC so now hes taken care of. last favor i will do for you 2. i suppose its best hes totally knocked out or having to cauterize his shoulder would have sucked for him. that and having smacked him around a bit for good measure. hah. deserved it. hes being watched over by his catatonic mother and his little brother holding gC's often unused railgunkind. he wouldnt want me talking about that but i dont care.
so thats it. im done. im going to treck back to my house and wash my hands of all this. i dont want anymore to do with YOUR game or either of you two. if cG ever manages to find her way on she and i can have a big ol FUCK YOU 2 party. neither of you 2 will be invited. i am going to be on my way or ill just kick gC in the face again... fucking how dare he get me angry and do this to him. serves him right.
so there im done goodbye.
note: to everyone else. i dont care. about this game. about advice or anything. im not playing. im done. fuck off.

AA: Sounds li e something you "Pr totyped" contained psych c enemies of some sort. I'm so ry if you've pre iously posted up a "Proto yped" list on here al eady. I've bee busy with sh nanigans here so I c n't stay too long. Go run recon on GC f you get th chance, he may need it.
CG: T ll me about it...
AT: You' l proba ly disregard this message, bu this game wi l go ba ly, and wh le you may not be happy wi h it, tough. Trust me, when shit hits the f n it will hit you s as much as theirs. Sburb t kes no prisoners, only victims.

Well, since I realized this has been kinda all over the place, let me give you as much info as we know about our session, gathered in one place.
Protoypings: I prototyped a mannikin wearing a wizard costume. Result: Lots of enemies that can use magic. Well, fake magic, anyway. My second prototyping ended up being a really old computer I've had kicking around forever, so now my sprite is some kinda retro sci-fy cyborg wizard or something. He's pretty cool, if hard to understand. Anyway, the second one was post-entry so no effect on the imps.
aggrieveTwilight, through shenanigans, ended up prototyping her dead bird. Result: Everything has wings now. Kinda annoying, 'cause flight is a real big advantage on my Land... I'm not totally sure what the story is on her second prototyping, but I guess she had a dog and it got prototyped, too? So now her sprite is some kinda bird-dog thing. Again, post entry.
goliathChained, unfortunately, decided to prototype a Mammon Machine figurine he had, "cause it would be awesome". For some reason (Sburb's typical sense of humor?) this resulted in a Lavossprite and all the enemies getting many of the attributes of Lavos - giant blasts of energy, unusually large, copying the abilities of other creatures, etc. On the flip side, we've all been shooting up our echeladders now because every single enemy is worth mad experience. So I think we are all quite a bit stronger than we are supposed to be. Back on topic, his second prototyping was his pet cat (what is it with our session and pets?) because he was annoyed at the screeching sounds Lavossprite tends to make. Well, mission success: It now mewls like a cute little kitten. And runs away from the big scary monsters like a cute little kitten. ~sigh~
cleverGryphon, our fourth player, has not really started playing yet because I lost my server disk like the tool I am.
Modus and abstratus: My modus is called MaxModus Beta v2.0. God, don't get me started on this thing. I wrote it myself, back in my "aspiring programmer" years. It used to be useful, and then I kept adding more features to it, and now the whole thing is a bloated nightmare and I can never get it to do what I want. Every now and then I crack open the source code, but I only ever seem to make things worse.
My preferred abstratus is called spherekind, which sounds lame but seriously I've made all kinds of cool things with alchemy. Anything roughly spherical is a valid weapon, and I've gotten really good at using Breath abilities to manipulate my attacks in flight.
aT uses this nifty sylladex called the Animus Modus. I guess it's based on a video game? Anyway, it stores her items in this virtual reality world that's a recreation of historical Venice or something like that and makes her go through this cool obstacle course or complete some kind of challenge to get the item back. I think it's awesome - item storage and virtual reality training in one package! - but she says it's kind of a pain.
As I mentioned earlier, aT fights using 2xboxcutterkind, which definitely IS a weird abstratus. Hard to come up with new weapons for, too, but I guess she's managed. Only in Sburb would you end up describing someone as "wielding the world's deadliest boxcutters", but there you go.
Last I checked gC is still using that old Inventory Modus that was popular ages ago, but he refuses to update to the newer version. Says it's "nostalgic". Anyway, you know how it goes, it basically offers pretty convenient RPG-style inventory management. But the version he uses is so "oldschool" (his word) that it's full of aggravating bugs. Like you have to come up with a name no more than 8 letters long for anything you store, and it can't hold more than 99 of the same thing (even if it's something tiny, like M&Ms).
As far as I know gC has a wider variety of abstratus than any of us. His favorite is fistkind, and he's crazy good with it, but he also uses batkind a lot. Since aT let the cat out of the bag, I'll go ahead an mention for completeness sake that he has railgunkind, too, which is as stupidly powerful as it sounds. He never uses it, though, because he says it's "shameful". Long story short, it's actually because I kinda humiliated him in a Strife a long time ago. Funny story, but I'll save it for another time.
I don't know too much about cG's modus, but apparently she has this nifty "character sheet" that tracks all her vital stats and everything she's carrying? But it has to manually updated (like, pencil and eraser kind of manual) so it takes forever to do simple things. Plus it apparently uses really abstract numbers to represent things (she told me once that it rates her personality as a "38", but she has nothing to compare that number to so what does it even mean?).
I've also never seen cG fight, but apparently she's pretty good with bowkind. She also has dicekind, which she really adores, but to me it always seemed too random and unpredictable to be reliable.
Lands:
I'll keep this short, because a) I ramble a lot, and b) I don't know much yet about the Lands other than mine.
Me - Land of Towers and Zephyrs. Big rocky spires with lots of unpredictable weather.
aT - Land of Bogs and Fire. Pretty much what it says on the tin. Apparently her consorts are really huge rats?
gC - Land of Zeal and Souls. Strange name, I guess Sburb couldn't think of a more appropriate name for it. Anyway, it's kinda like mine with out the terrible weather. gC says it's a bunch of really pretty floating islands suspended above a frozen wasteland, with these weird gate-like teleporters that connect the two. Sounds weird to me, but gC seems to really like it.
And of course we have no idea what cG's land is.
Well, that was a hell of an infodump. Did I miss anything? Anything about our session your guys would like to know?

Well guys I just came too. Woke up back in my house... guess I must have crawled back up here at some point when I blacked out haha. Boy am I messed up; I think I might be out of commission till I can figure out a way to remedy this problem.
I know what my problem here is. I made a mistake and let me guard down when I thought it was safe, but I see how it is now. This game is hardcore mode; hehe that just means I have to step up my game. I'm not outta this game yet!
and hey thanks for the concern guys; actually I think I might have an idea to sweeten up this deal hmm. Before that though I am going to attach a picture to commemorate this moment lol.Attachments:

That's legitimately impressive. I don't think many people could maintain that kind of cheer while holding their own severed arm. I honestly hope things improve for you.

TO: GC JEGUS FUCKING CHRIST KID, WE DON'T NEED TO SEE THAT!
I AM STILL AMAZED THAT YOU CAN HAVE THAT EXPRESSION ON YOUR FACE WHILE HOLDING YOUR OWN SEVERED ARM LIKE IT WAS A STICK.
THIS GAME DOES NOT HAVE ANY "HARDCORE MODE", AND THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL REALITY, THIS IS VERY REAL, AND "GAME OVER" HERE, IS SYNONYMOUS WITH "YOU ARE DEAD". NO EXTRA LIVES. FUCK UP, YOU DIE. SIMPLE AS THAT.
YOUR NEW CURRENT OBJECTIVE IS TO REGROUP WITH YOUR SQUAD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, BUT THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE STAYS THE SAME: SURVIVE.
NOW, TO ALL PLAYING THIS SESSION... *AHEM*
SOLDIERS, ARE YOUR READY FOR WHAT THIS HELL THROWS AT YOU?! YOU WILL FACE RINGWRAITHS, PSYCHORUINS, ANGELS, THE OTHERS, CORRUPTION, PLAYER KILLERS, BERSERK TRIGGERS, BLACK KINGS, BLACK QUEENS, AGENTS, CARAPACIANS, AND MANY OTHERS!!! ARE YOU READY TO FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE!? ARE YOU READY TO BLEED FOR YOUR FRIENDS!? ARE YOU READY TO FACE DEATH!? GIVE ME YOUR ANSWER, SOLDIERS!!!!![/b][/color]

GC: Um, be ore you get any ideas a out some sort of 'hardcore mode' I'd just like to say th last person I hea d say th t tried to kill me and my friends. Tru t me the game is plenty difficul on its own. As you can pr bably tell this is no virtu l reality, this is very much real.
AA: If you could talk some sense into GC th t would be awe ome. Also wh t chapters of th guide h ve hit your t mestamp so far?

Okay, first? There is no hardmode. There's just "this game will do its best to kill you". The good news (in as much as it is good news) is that you've got a spare life; your dreamself, up on Prospit or Derse. More bad news: the Derse Archagent is definitely going to be organizing assassination attempts against the Prospit dreamers and, depending on circumstances, probably against the Derse dreamers too. If your dreamself dies, you are down a spare life.
If someone dies, smooch their corpse and run them to the Quest Bed. Or, if their dreamself's already dead, run 'em to the Crypt Bed (which is on the moon they dream on, down in the center). Corpsesmooch will awaken their dreamself and activate it as a second life. Crypt and Quest Beds will cause you to go godtier if you die on them.
Second, you can't just opt out of the game. If it were an option, everyone would be doing it, trust me; none of us want to be here doing this. Especially not more than once.
Third, get AA a copy of gentlemanMannerism's guide as soon as you can and get her to read it. Any means possible. It'll give her a better handle on her Aspect and it'll (hopefully) keep a repeat of "suddenly your computers asplode" from happening. Getting a copy for everyone else to read wouldn't be a bad idea, either; go for the original version, not the computer-portable one.

Alright well I feel tons of better now. I never been one much for science but this alchemy system is an absolute godsend; I can make anything I could possibly dream of. So I went DISMEMBERED RIGHT ARM @@ TEEN TITANS DVD to make the DETACHABLE CYBORG ARM then took the DETACHABLE CYBORG ARM @@ R-66Y FIGURINE to create the PROMETHEAN BALL-BUSTER!
cO: Soldier at attention SIR! Ready and ever eager sir! Nothing can bring down this soldier hehe! I can only hope to personally experience each and every one of those challenges!
iC: You dont have to worry bout me bro; im waaaaay tougher than you think. I am absolutely sure I can handle whatever this game can throw my way, and in that belief what could possibly go wrong?
sT: Yea exactly. HARDCORE!
Oh and yea I had the wierdest dream about a yellow moon whenI was blacked out... I guess that must be what you guys are talking about. Yea was the wierdest damn thing, really a f'ing awesome place. Was kinda rude to this hardshelled black guy who seemed eager to show me his knife collection but I blew him off to go flying around the place. Wierd stuff...
Note: I guess not attempting to re-attach before making a new better robot arm means I am stuck with 1/2fistkind with my normal arm and my PROMETHEAN BALL-BUSTER being two different weapons I can't use at the same time? Wierd...
Note2: Wierdest thing. If I hold my dismembered arm by the wrist its a valid batkind weapon. Hehehe gross
