In my first session, I was a Seer of Doom.
Have you ever heard about people who can't figure out how the heck their classpect works?
Lucky bastards.
Every time I touched something, I knew exactly how it would die, and exactly who would do it.
And that's why I survived.
There were five of us in my session; the Seer of Doom, the Mage of Time, the Guard of Heart, the Knight of Space, and the Sage of Fate.
The Guard was my best friend. We'd known each other for most of our lives, so of course we played the game together. His two best friends and his girlfriend decided to join, and I was happy for that. The more the merrier, I thought.
The first time I touched him after the game started, I Saw it all.
And I knew that he wouldn't make it.
There was nothing I could do, you see. Once you've seen it happen, it has to go that way.
So when the Mage stole every last one of his minutes and left him dead, I came out to return the favour.
I wore their player charms; The Guard's out of respect, the Mage's out of sympathy for his poor client.
Things went well for a while after that. We hit God Tier, and the Blight started speaking to me. I had taken too much misgiving to let this affect me, and the Blight accepted that.
I took refuge in my homefree on the Land of Dreams and Endings, listening to my friends as they finished their quests, taking comfort in the Whisperings of my deceased friends.
The Sage died in the breeding phase, saving the two of us.
I gave the Knight her charm, and we went to fight the King.
It was going so well, too.
During the fight, the Knight ripped himself apart to kill the King. He was the last one left, my only friend.
But I thought the game would bring him back.
I threw every last charm into the Door, and followed them on their way.
Max, if you're out there somewhere, I'm sorry I wasn't faster on the upbringing.
Serena, if you're alive, you deserved this victory more than anyone else.
Michael, if you've cheated death, thank you for saving my life, when you could have kept your own.
And Jaiden, if I ever see you again, I'll kill you all over again, and love every second.
In my next session, I was a Guard of Hope.
And I managed to keep these people alive.
But that's a different story.
Thank you for taking the time to hear my woes. I'm sorry this story doesn't have a happy ending, but that's the way it goes.
I am done here.
