oh lol good on rain wanting it back both ways
Can you remote scry aspect affinity yet? Standard interpret Seer of Blood should be able to check that pluck-cheap. Use that to check if the Azurites are where they should be on the ability side of mythos or if you're in for a bigger problem later.

We're all pretty convinced that whoever this Smith is, they knew what they were doing, up to this point our theory was that the Smith was a native Smith, possible Smith of Void, and that the other was at least a Law native. I can't believe I hadn't considered checking if this was the case before now - and it is, the Smith has an affinity for Void and the Law player for Law. SC has also told me that she's decided against trying to mess with her class today - but she's curious as to how duplicones would react to vagabouncy so, who knows, we might get a crazy story about that one day, assuming she survives the attempt.
Honestly, both of the others have already been through their current roles once before just by luck of the draw, and the only aspect that SC is more potent with than Dream is Rain (the day she rolls Waste of Rain is the day that you, horrorTerror, probably get a really good piece of evidence for that theory of yours). The only ones new to their current roles here are myself with Seer and also Blood, and this Sage of Space who seems fairly distraught but otherwise nice. He's getting himself ready to ascend back on his planet.
SC is now looking for her own quest bed too while FC and I plot a plan to take these two azurites out.
Additional piece of info worth noting, the Void player's land is looking more and more... mechanical, like it's being slowly covered in a sheath of death star paint - do Smiths usually figure out how to make self-replicating machinery?

It's doable with some reasonable initial materials, just not normally necessary for virtually anything not likely to break something. What's the nature of this overlay? Does it contain any structured mechanics or is it just a sea of grey goo that's vaguely shaped like things because verdancy regen is fast enough to keep relative shape? Probably a bad idea to get too close but if you've got safe flight signs point to checking it out from orbit. You know, Muses are to extend the story passively, and what better passive extension of a story within the framework of creativity that is Dream than by indirectly drawing it into a larger structured narrative of aspects befitting the insanity of Rain? I'm getting a great/horribleterrible idea. Muses are thematically great for the twin aspects of inspiration... Can the Voices still talk to her through the Grid? If she rolled Dream that many times in a row then unless all of them were brutal struggles that nothing was learned from (and she's actually pretty potent at it so that can't be the case) then the Grid is probably learning to put up with how possessive the Voices can get of their champions. Have her waltz off to a Skaian Summoning that Rain can put up with and now that she's tiered figure out how to make them cooperate. Dreams and Rain have pretty impressive sync for opposites. The Voices as a whole said they outright love Dream at least once on this forum and the Grid is like 'okay that's actually kind of awesome' to what Rain does according to a description of a UU, so if nothing else have the lady who's done both hard figure out some way to make them cooperate in a single champion. If Rain can't coerce Sburb into letting her residual whisperings get a tight enough grasp to start freestyling with no strings attached as an aspect-beloved, have her read through the dream moon libraries on aspect majjyks, copy some codes for stuff that talks about Dreams and Rain, and get (ir)responsibly alchemizing to put that Muse bonus to use. Worst comes to worst Muses get okay natural bonuses for majjyks that aren't strictly game-tied abilities and introducing her to another way to weaponize the rainbow is another edge in what might happen later. Calliope-Clio-Euterpe-Erato-Melpomene-Polyhymnia-Terpischore-Thalia-Urania all please bless this plan. Kokopelli-Chad-Aeiou-Bo-Urania-Feather-Crraw-Pwt-Mimi also all please bless this plan. Any muses of muses you can think of, please beg for help.

Oh, wait, you're not tiered yet? derp me need to reread
Literally ask the Whisperings one last time right before you try anything just to be sure that everything's okay. If they both say 'yes' then you're good. It seems preordained because quest bed assets are generated with land or technically before depending on if you subscribe to the skaian basement theory. I really doubt this can be a glitch...Is anyone on your dream moon capable of checking a hallway or something for a Heroes' Banners set to see if the symbol matches?
This is going to be a good watch if nothing else, if you guys make Event Log I'll be sure to tell you you're afterlife-famous.

Confirmation on the banners on Prospit matching.
More importantly though - I knew this sounded familiar, let me quote a post from a few years back, spoiler for your convenience - important part starts at "But yeah. How I survived. That's a different story.":
I'm. Alive, more or less. A lot just happened. Mostly, everything went wrong, with a few things that went almost right. Let me start from the beginning here.
I was there, after leaving that last message, bleeding really really bad. So I climb up Zero's Pinnacle of Miracles, so I can hopefully ascend to God Tier. And I run into Zero and Aloice. Zero's wearing this incredibly badass power suit thing- I guess he didn't have the grist to make a proper giant mecha, or something, but damn if his robot chassis isn't awesome anyway.
Zerovirus: SC! Oh my god, are you okay? Benedict: No, I... fuck, I need... Zerovirus: Get up! It'll be okay. I have this under control. Aloice: We brought the waspsprite, you can jump in and be healed. Zerovirus: Come on, over here. Benedict: NO! I... I've got another plan. I know what- Aloice: It's not going to work. Benedict: ...what? Zerovirus: The Shadow King told us. He said you'd show up here, dying. Benedict: REALLY. Zerovirus: I've been saving my sprite just for this kind of thing, in case- Benedict: Fucking really. He told you I'd be here about to die. Aloice: Well, I- Zerovirus: She's been using her time powers to see the future- the King's been helping, he provided her with- Aloice: This magic mirror, it lets me see the near past and future of- Zerovirus: Wherever she's standing, but- Aloice: Hey. Stop. Zerovirus: Sorry. Aloice: He helped us with this quest, and told me to use the mirror here. It's really hard to see, though, I don't think I'm- Zerovirus: High enough level. Benedict: Dude. Zerovirus: Agh, right. Aloice: But we came here to save you. Benedict: I don't need your help. Zerovirus: SC, don't- Benedict: I just need... that. Zerovirus: What? No, that's mine, it's not supposed to work for you. Benedict. I know what- aaaaa! Ow. What I'm doing. Aloice: You don't- I've seen you, dead on the slab. Benedict: No, that's- that's how it WORKS, it's the dreamself that
So here's, uh. Where everything goes really insanely wrong. I don't... know if, like this is. I'm not going to post the rest of the transcript. Nobody comes out looking good. What happened is... she started going on about prophecies and the future, how the Smoke Knight had to replace me, that I could still live as a sprite... I was supposed to be powerless. Trivialized. I was supposed to be expelled from my Role and forced into the role of support character- as a game abstraction who would eventually become irrelevant and disappear. Despite my protests, they brought the sprite, the fucking WASP, the horrible insect- closer and closer and I wasn't going to. What I did next wasn't great. If you want to hate me for it, sure. Go ahead. I was angry, I couldn't handle... anything. I took out my 2xGinsu, and put it through Aloice's chest. I expected more resistance, like a rib or something in the way. But it went right in, and right out, covered in blood. She yelped and then fell down. And then Zero... he stood there in shock for a second, and as soon as I tried to say something it was too late. He grabbed me in one giant robot claw and slammed me onto the quest bed, and then... I blacked out right after the first hammer blow, but I've since snuck a peek at my body and... it wasn't recognizable. Like, blood everywhere, rotting flesh and seriously I almost threw up. He must've kept going until there was nothing left to mangle. And, uh... I guess I should say, don't worry, we're both alive. She's the sprite, now, in with the wasp and stuff. I guess... I probably wouldn't have done it if I didn't know that was an option. I don't think Zero knew about kiss resurrection? Or was uncomfortable with it for whatever reason? I don't know what was going on with him, I haven't... talked with him, and stuff. I didn't have him down as the revenge type- he's all read up on the sunk cost fallacy and stuff, he doesn't think it's useful. But that... probably wasn't a situation where he had that on the brain.
But yeah. How I survived. That's a different story.
after Zero bashed in my head, I woke up on Derse. On the slab. It had to be the slab, what else would it be? Really convenient, when you come to think of it. I think... maybe the Shadow King or the Smoke Knight or whatever had this planned all along. How they could have orchestrated this insane Xanatos gambit (or why) is a mystery, but it worked out as well as it could have for me. I turned to Jack, who hastily put away some kind of dog magazine? I was about to ask him to kill me, but he said "say no more" and put a really nasty-looking knife through my eye socket. Hurt less than I expected- maybe a dreamself thing.
So as far as I can figure, here's what happened. The Sand quest bed wouldn't have brought me to God Tier- I would've probably just stayed dead or whatever. But the bed in the crypt... that one's different, in order for it to function properly your real self needs to be dead, and your dreamself alive, and then your dreamself dies on it? And according to a few really confused FAQs, there's a bunch of insane circumstantial activation conditions, too. Like, you can die by green fire, or die without certain body parts attached, or die without ever having your dreamself wake, or die with an odd number of dersites/prospitians crying over your corpse, or just be really Lucky in terms of like actual game luck that Light and Law manipulate... seriously it looks like a crapshoot. But for whatever reason, it activated, and... The game must've gotten confused somewhere. Unsurprisingly, given how shitty the game's coding is alleged to be, it got its ascension scripts mixed up or some shit. Like, okay, if player is on the bed and condition X Y or Z is met, and his real self's dead, then... bestow god tier powers and spawn at crypt? But then, there's the live activation conditions on the main bed, where it checks "is ascending" which presumably has its own logic but maybe also gets toggled by the crypt ascension? This is all guesswork, but it bears investigation- although given the inherently risky nature of the endeavor further research seems mega dangerous. Bottom line. I ascended inside Derse's crypt, as some weird-ass mixture of Smith of Sand and Prince of Law. I. Don't even know what the fuck. The game's identification is going kind of insane- I'm being referred to one or both of the titles (sometimes with mismatch of title and aspect) seemingly at random by consorts and carapaces, prophecy books just give up and print all the words at once (when they're not zalgo'd to death), and... my Sprite's calling me a "fallen prince" (prince with a capital P? or game-story moon prince?) and has bestowed the title of "Knave" upon me. I don't know if that's a generic identifier, like an opposite of Hero? Or like some emergency title when the game has no idea what's going on. Or maybe version drift? oh and my outfit is less terrible than the normal one would probably be- there's like this apron-tabard thing with a mashed-up unrecognizable law/sand symbol (god damn it law) and a hood and a cape and then a second, shorter cape underneath because the Ragripper scripts for this shit are probably bananas.
There's also the matter of problems. Like, you'd think it'd be awesome to have the powers of Law and Sand combined? Well, it looks like the game pulled more of an && operator than an ||, and... like the abilities I had before aren't working. Ascension came with a shitload of scrambled Revelawesomes, but almost nothing's actually working, like each Aspect is saying "what, that ability isn't mine, cancel casting." What's weird, though? Besides the rest of this insanity? There seem to be like extra-special powers for the combination of aspects. Like, maybe when someone was coding they thought "man, wouldn't it be cool if players could dual-aspect, let's put in some bullshit special abilities just for that combo" and then they never finished scripting it and dummied it out by disabling whatever what would've ordinarily let players pull this crap. So I've got this cool haze thing, like a magic smoke bomb that lets me poof away? Fuck that saccharine chessmaster, I'm gonna show him who's really in charge of smoke around here. I guess they thought "um, darkness, and also sand... that's like, smoke, right?" fuck whatever, I'm tired of guessing why any of this is possible.
Anyway. There's more stuff to talk about, namely what I think was supposed to be Supes' disaster but that didn't actually go through maybe? Or maybe something worse's coming. I've gotta go figure out what to do about my Denizen, though- his Minion showed up and won't stop badgering me.
EDIT: woot first log thread to reach two pages! What this means is probably that I'm unforgivably chatty and nobody cares about my terrible adventures, rather than that I've actually accomplished anything in particular.
As you can see, this guy had both Sand and Law while also being both a Prince and a Smith - now, this wasn't a case with two aspects obviously working together or anything, but it does mean that aspect can combine I guess? Ugh, this is hurting my head, I'm just gonna accept it as it is and move on.

Fun fact: In another chain Knave is actually an (active, similarly to the poor prismithnce of salawnd) class, though it's supposed to mean more 'doesn't actually' than 'destroycreate'. Paired with Jack I think, but I've never had to deal with either so w/e. Might explain the poor bastard's 'lol all your normal abilities don't make sense anymore' problem... More coherently yes it means aspects can work together but if they don't want to or have to fight the drunken rambling that is Sburb code then they certainly will get confused. If the symbol's split evenly rather than both at the same time that bodes...better, and if they're not dealing with glitchy ascensions then it might actually stay properly functional. All blessings again Do tell when it actually goes down. EDIT: There was also a Bane of 2 aspects and someone referred to a Sound of Rain on this forum. The former's more relevant as it means minimally glitched titles can accept dual aspects.

Oh dear god what have we wrought upon this world. Okay hold on let me think for a second... Dream and Rain? - Creativity. Check. Muse? Creation. Check, probably. What I can only assume to be witch? Surprise and complexity. Check2. Well, at least her roleplaying coefficient is probably gonna be going through the roof.
So, HT, how long do you think we got before this mess of aspects critically corrupts the session?

Post by horrorTerror on Apr 21, 2016 18:02:10 GMT -5
It either doesn't do that at all or you're already millions of years late, depending on what you define as corruption.
Also, just in case this is your critical Seer oversight and somebody dies (possibly more than once) over it, are you all sure the Azurites are actually Azurites who plan to kill you all?
Can Rain players eat the sometimes-wall-dissolving sometimes-peanut-butter-scented usually-rainbow I-think-it's-goop or is being virtually immune to literally eating their own aspect a Doom-only thing? If so and she's going for the kill avoid introducing her to the wonders of eating people unless we have confirmation it tries to kill first, cannibalism of players is best done saving the head for last to prevent kiss-reviving whatever remains of the body when she's done with it and being eaten alive is not a fun experience for a dreamself in pretty much every sense that involves actual digestion.

"I'm scared." -Tjinkhr'th Ul'glogglgb, translated. This quote describes exactly how everyone who isn't her should probably be feeling in that session right now.
Correction on that estimate: you're a few hours late, and it's sealed in alpha to boot. At this rate in a focused session of ARC-gathering she could probably kill virtually everything that can die and some things that can't with a giant salad fork and aspect boosts alone, nevermind actual weapons or aspect powers. Luckily player durability is way behind offensive power so really the only thing she has to watch out once she finishes getting going for (someone who rolls Dream that many times in a row and is actually good at it is not going down) is something that could fire through a constant [ Requiem of Sunshine and Rainbows ] combined with [ The Game Has Changed ] and a sea of laughing glass clowns full of rainbow headaches. Say, an Ohgodwhat made of Skaian Siege Engines. To be honest if she activates [ Dreams Never Die ] with an explicit goal she'll be a loop juggernaut.

Oh god, oh god, this is what SC was predicting! The Smith of Void is a supercomputer! That whole land was covered in it's body. We killed it but... I guess it was also on top of it's quest bed - so now it's covering a ton of skaia and god tier and I think it and Adam are having a fight over Jenny's brain. This is what she meant by me being wrong - I thought it was a regular person!
Okay, let's see, first hit the off button on Jenny's optical implants. Check. Second... second... Jen is safe, Sarah is bonkers... god, how did I think that was a good ide- wait, is this transcriber still on? Oh, whatever, I'm gonna make sure this thing gets sent off anyway. Listen, guys, here's the good news - all we have to do is kill this robot thing a second time (even if it is grinding through carapaces on skaia while creeping towards BK). Sarah is a wildcard. Jenny can't see. I can see. I'm a blood seer. I am a blood seer. I can't just go in and fight, I need to use magic... relationships...
I see now. horrorTerror, hear me.
