restedArchitect here. So I'm stuck a little past my first gate and at my first NPC village. These fucking cats are EVERYWHERE. They're crawling all over me and I can't even type legibly because they keep jacking my fucking laptop away from meow and playing with my headset!
How the fuck do I deal with these godforsaken kitties? Any tips on managing overly friendly consorts? It took me an hour just to type this message up - I had to edit a shitload of meowing out. I can't keep in contact with my server player like this!

Do you have a pair of glasses or goggles?
If so, alchemise the laptop with those. Shoes too. It pays to have anywhere between three and five computers on you at all given times.

This is why you really should carry no less than 5 computers on you at all times, like a sensible person. Your consorts sure sound like a friendly bunch- hope they don't end up hindering you on any quests!

Okay, I finally got these meowing mewling purring bastards off my lap. I swear, I'm down for some fucking apathetic as shit reptiles for consorts if I ever make it into my second session. Jesus.
I got my glasses and... a smartphone. And my laptop. Uh, hrm. And I guess a joke pair of disguise glasses that I don't know how got into my deck.
Tried alchemizing my phone and headset with my joke glasses. This is passable. This is good. Yes. Good. I'm in love with this fucking magnificent mustache. It's bitchin'.
Okay. Time to contact MA and get to dungeon-crawling. Thanks for the help.
Hopefully these cats won't follow me down there too...

As a fellow Space native, I can say that you have it lightly. Your Consorts don't try to poison your food or cook you, or make you very drunk (my liver). Don't let them distract you though.

Yeah, Space consorts are WEIRD. My first set had some ritual that involved my head and a large pot of boiling gold stuff. I wasn't sure if it meant my head in the pot or the contents of the pot on my head, but I didn't stay to find out what was up with that. (And trust me, it was either or, no other options. They had an illustrated guide to the ritual. Freaky squirrels.) You've got it easy if they're just affectionate. I would warn you to pay attention to them when you get into the nitty gritty of frog hunting, though. Consorts can do very odd things to frogs.
