As the title says.
To elaborate, our Bane of Hope just started flipping the fuck out. He's like some sort of super-veteran, and quite frankly he terrified me anyway, but I assumed he had a better handle on himself than this. Normally he's just really intense and a bit condescending, but I can kind of understand why. But now he's just started ranting and screaming and running all over everyone's lands and we're kind of getting a bit freaked out - not that we weren't anyway. We've got no idea what set him off and he's ranting too fast for us to really make out what he's saying.
Is this something normal, or do I have reason to be afraid? Is this a sign he's about to turn violent? Because I remember hearing that he borrowed a nuke from Maria to alchemise a weapon with, and I'd rather not get my ass irradiated.

What has he been shouting about, exactly? It might help us figure out what's going on.
Also, do you mind passing on his handle? If he's a veteran then there's a chance that somebody here may recognise him and will be able to offer additional advice.

No idea what he's screaming about, he's talking too fast for us to make it out. Not to mention moving too quickly. Do Banes of Hope get some sort of speed buff? There's no way he should be moving that fast.
His handle is extropianDreamer. He's the one who clued us into this place.

try leveling all your [ps -buff ] on him
that might be able to calm him down
but [h pe pl yers] are hard to help when they do snap
because they have high resistance to them

Okay, we tried the psy-buffs. The ones we could spare anyway.
Maria says he just started screaming louder.
We'll try giving him some space and time, I guess. I really hope he doesn't turn PK.

Players with 41 sessions on their belt don't just turn PK, kiddo. If one had it in themselves they'd have already. I agree with spenih, give the guy some time. Do you guys have a player of Rain? And finally, what's up with people named Maria and nukes?

Oh right, Maria is adversityInvictus, our Witch of Breath. I think the house she ended up in was apparently also some sort of weapons lab or something. Either way, she has access to nukes somehow
The other players in this session are Jen, AKA everReady, our Bard of Blood and the only player other than Ed with more than one session behind them, and Marcus, AKA dimestoreConfusion, our Ward of Space.
Back on topic, he seems to have stopped running now. Problem is, we can't figure out where he might have gone to. I'd try scrying for him, but I haven't quite figured out how to do that yet.

veterans can be odd after being in the game so long

but a native around here may be able to help you
at worst
you can wait for him to return

Native Hope player here, maybe I can help? I honestly have never heard of this happening, but then again I've only played 4 sessions. Neither have I played a session with a Bane in it.
Does he have traces of corruption around him? I'm kind of reaching for an explanation here. I'm going to agree with everyone else on this. Keep your eyes peeled, stay on guard, and give him some space and time to sort through...whatever is going on. Hope players don't snap easily but when they do it's pretty spectacular. I don't think ED should be dangerous on a PK level, unless he has reached that stage in the past.

Gah, finally tracked the crazy bastard down.
Not sure why, but it didn't occur to me to check his homefree until my futureself came and smacked me upside the head with the idea.
FYI I hate future me and he really didn't have to hit me that hard. Asshole.
The place was all smashed up when we got there, but we found him... well, I guess you could call it meditating? Either way, he had himself together enough to talk/shout at us. Kept alternating between really loud and really calm. Kind of creepy. Told us to go away and all.
Maria and Marcus decided to apply the anti-corruption measures, just in case. Jen joined in when he started objecting, but there's not really much you can do about it if Maria decides to hug you - girl is basically a gigantic tower of muscles on muscles. Didn't do much in the end, so we can cross corruption off the list of causes.
We figure we'll take you folks' advice and give him some space. He seemed to be getting things under control and we've been putting off our own quests for long enough now. He said he'd catch up when he'd gotten some stuff sorted out?

Yeah, I'm cool. Just the Voices deciding they wanted to come pay me a visit and the Strife telling them to fuck off, all reverberating around the inside of my skull.
Got it mostly under control now, I hope.
What the fuck is even up with that? Has that ever happened to anyone else, that your native Whisperings decide to just show up for a chat (and to drive you bugfuck insane, because apparently we need more crazy in our lives, no matter what)? Spenih, you free to talk sometime? I know you have the Null follow you occasionally and I could use some advice.
EDIT Also, NR? I'm not bloody well going to suddenly turn PK you douche. Was ER telling you that? She probably would, just to stir up more trouble for me.

eD. I never had exactly that problem, but World of Space is surely diffrent than Voices of Rain.
World is nice, and other Whispers seem to hold her in high regard. Like, Shade was kinda really nice for me in my previous run.
I think that Beat of Time would not, cause Space and Time are opposites.
But maybe it will work out? I hope so
