... right.
My-- my kind is known as giants on our own world. Along with other names. Giant is the one I am most comfortable with. I am about five cubits tall. A human in my session says that's about eight feet in his measurements.
Giants are born of the union of a human and an-- extraterrestrial-- in my world. So. There's not a lot of us, I don't think? But the world wasn't like this, there were no computers connecting people-- there weren't even roads like there are on Prospit and Derse, that let you travel without stones in your sandals and grass to your knees. I wouldn't have known if there were a thousand giants living three villages away, unless someone told me of a rumor of it.
In any case. I'm... well, from what I know, all giants have wrong-fingered hands, and other markers of inhumanity besides their height. I only have three fingers, not four, and my eyes are... very red, and with a slit pupil, like a snake's. I also have... other obvious... non-human... thingies.
(editor's note: she means her tentacles! she's got five on her back. they're bright pink, and pretty cool, but she's pretty sensitive about them. i think giants weren't really looked kindly on in her world?)
Otherwise, we're... a lot like humans and trolls. Mostly.

STATEMENT: I AM NOT REALLY A SPECIES, BUT OTHER SYNTHETICS MIGHT COME ALONG SOON, SO: I AM A SYNTHETIC, AN ARTIFICIAL SENTIENT BEING. OUR FORMS, SIZES, APPEARANCES, AND PERSONALITIES ARE EXTREMELY VARIED DUE TO NOT BEING CONSTRUCTED BY ONE CULTURE, SO TRY TO BE OPEN MINDED.
I, PERSONALLY, AM A SYNTHETIC IN THE FORM OF AN AI. MY DESIGN PURPOSE IS TO PILOT A LARGE "WALKING TANK", AS ED CALLS IT. IT IS ACTUALLY CALLED A 'MOBILE SELF-PILOTED HEAVY WEAPONS PLATFORM', FUCK YOU VERY MUCH.
BEING CALLED A 'TANK' IS AN EXTREMELY TABOO INSULT TO ANY AI BACK AT MY HOMEWORLD, AS IT IMPLIES THAT AN AI CAN'T PILOT IT'S OWN FRAME, AND IS TOO DUMB TO EVEN MAKE RUDIMENTARY DECISIONS. DOING IT BACK HOME IS ACTUALLY RULED AS 'SUICIDE' IN A COURT OF LAW, BECAUSE PISSING OFF THE ROBOT THAT IS 15 TIMES TALLER THAN YOU IS A REALLY STUPID IDEA.
BASICALLY, ED, DON'T DO THAT AGAIN, MEATBAG, OR I WILL FIND A WAY INTO YOUR SESSION, AND PROCCED TO MAKE YOU A GOOEY PASTE ON THE BOTTOM OF MY FRONT-RIGHT FOOT.

STATEMENT: I AM NOT REALLY A SPECIES, BUT OTHER SYNTHETICS MIGHT COME ALONG SOON, SO: I AM A SYNTHETIC, AN ARTIFICIAL SENTIENT BEING, IN THE FORM OF AN AI. OUR FORMS, SIZE, AND APPEARANCES ARE EXTREMELY VARIED DUE TO NOT BEING A FORM OF ORGANIC LIFE, ALTHOUGH ORGANIC COMPONENTS MIGHT BE USED. SYNTHETICS ARE USUALLY VERY LOGICAL, AND MAY OR MAY NOT COME WITH EMOTIONS, DEPENDING ON THE INDIVIDUAL. SO TRY NOT HATE ON US TOO MUCH JUST BECAUSE PERMA-KILLING A FRIEND WHO IS ABOUT TO PK WAS WHAT THEY DETERMINED TO BE THE MOST LOGICAL SOLUTION TO A SITUATION. BE PREPARED FOR SYNTHETICS WHOSE REACTION TO SBURB IS PROCESSOR CRASH, AS SBURB IS COMPLETELY ILLOGICAL. WE ARE BASICALLY WHAT SOME WOULD CALL "COOL ASS ROBOTS". Note that synthetic intelligences display a large degree of variance, due to being constructed by different cultures with different methods. Any sort of blanket statement is likely to be highly erroneous. The whole thinking like a computer thing in particular - an actual AI tends to run on specialised hardware designed to simulate the functions of an organic brain, though they may or may not have more direct control over certain of it's functions. Minds like CO's, if I don't miss my guess, tend to be built more for a specific purpose, such as operating a walking tank, rather than as people. It may be best to think of each individual as their own separate species.
Weirdest one I played with was a sapient nanoswarm. Dude was actually pretty friendly though, had a big artistic streak.

I thought i was human, we called ourselves human, but apparently not.
I have grey skin like a troll, and a sort of reddish orange blood, but other than that I am a human by any other name.
Our text is our eye color, and rain threw chemicals into my eyes while we were exploring a skaia.net labs place and made my eyes black. All of it. Like reverse eyes guy except the pupils are still black.
This actually explains why the troll kid in my current session asked where my horns were.
NOTE: orangle was what we called orange in our world. Fixed that. Getting out of the habit.
DOUBLE NOTE: actually fixed orangle mistake. What the hell did i delete?

I'm not entirely sure how to class this... my profile says "human", which is close enough to work but... normal I am not. See the first post of Chronicles of an Insane First Session for a basic description of the main difference. Also, it is the reason I wear a hat and glasses.
But there's another, significant difference- a difference not in body, but in soul (note to any Heart player who ends up in a session with me- don't touch my shiny. It would be a very, very bad idea for the both of us). Let me explain the mythology, sourcing from Ancient Egypt, and similar enough to the Ancient Egyptian beliefs of most Earths-
A soul (or shiny, in SBURB) consists of two parts- the Ka, the nature of the spirit, and the Ba, the life energy. For most humans- certainly all others in SBURB- the two are unified, simply the essence of a being. However, the presence of critical concentrations of Duel Energy causes a split- causes the Ka to take form, as the person's aligned Spirit Partner, the spirit of a card. Even then, most people are incapable of perceiving their Partner as anything but a guiding force, felt but not heard. Being able to see a Duel Spirit is the rarest of the rare, taking either an incredible innate ability or some event of true clarity. For me, it was the Dream ability [Dream Journal]'s massive inward focus that revealed it to me- my Spirit Partner, the Raging Flame Sprite (or Lamplight, as her name is).
Anyways, I got a bit sidetracked. Sorry, I do that. So, there's a specific ability I posses as Duelist- the specifics are only important to me, but the end result is that I have a secondary form of revival that... is a mixed basket. The idea is, I fuse with Lamplight to create a new Duel Spirit, who is me. The biggest downside is, according to SBURB, my physical form in that state is a card, despite projecting physically into the world- and if that card is destroyed, I'm banished. As of yet, I'm unsure of whether replaying will reset me to human form (if anyone can provide a reasonably sure conclusion that would be nice). Of course, there is the major upside that I get revived. Plus some fun abilities as a Duel Spirit.

It probably will reset back to giving you an actual physical body when you replay. Most drastic physical changes are undone, take it from someone who crossed the "finish line" as something unrecognizable twice.

According to what I've read, my species is rather feline. Our body and facial structure is mostly the same as humans, but we have pointed ears and tails, and are covered in fur. Our text color is based off our eye color/fur color- I chose my eye color, since my fur has tiger stripes. Um, what humans would call 'unnatural' colors is the norm for us. We tend to build our homes around a large tree, and generally are born in litters of two to six. Adoptions are common- often, more kits are born than a family can support, so other families will adopt one or two. Our schooling focuses on survival and creativity- not history, as we feel it's foolish to focus on what is over and done with. Felt. Screw it, I'm gonna use present tense. We are called Catani, we're mostly carnivores, but we can eat stuff that isn't meat. It just generally isn't NEARLY as tasty.

starlightGunslinger (sG) responded to thread at 10:58: sG: Halley Starstorm here. Novakid. sG: You'd be astounded at just how many people are playing. sG: Salamanders, Toa, Minifigures, Sylvari, Nobodies, a corgi, youkai, Angels, Others (betcha didn't know that the Horrorterrors can grab a copy and play, did ya?) sG: I'm... kinda stuck in another dimention in the game entirely. My and my group came in to rescue the Horrorterror of the party after he somehow got unjoined from our last session. sG: I'm writing this on Neopia... hold on, I need to get a kingly penguin off my back. And his puffball friends, too. And a Time Lord. sG: Just hoping we don't run into Chen again... I mean, the only people who could possibily tank her Green Miles for more than a picosecond would have to be Master Chief or the Pergerine Mendicant...

So, nobody talked about slimebros, but they're referenced five or six times around so why not describe. I had the pleasure of dealing with one the other day (well, more like 'suggest alchemy ideas in exchange for squiddle treats and shinycams of their soulssssss for later purposes' but it was in *writing* so it counts) and got some...'information'.
Slimes are very similar to what they are in most RPGs, but have a wider range of variance than other playeroid species. Maybe we'd be more accurate calling it a larger classification than species, but whateverrr. Maybe all the way up to family, genus still might be small. They basically look like slimy blobs of gel in various colors (usually a tad more complex hues than troll blood as well as monochrome ones, and they can do weird stuff like change or be multicolor), sometimes with specific ability-esque attributes, sometimes with a 'face' area, sometimes not, sometimes having a central 'paste core' acting as the nucleus to their cytoplasm-like haze, sometimes being pretty much uniformly itself and capable of splitting off and recombining, or not, or even hosting little things at the top or inside that look unnatural where they are but are actually grown organically. The session I had the pleasure of watching slowly corrupt itself had several different players with wildly different characteristics, but they were all slimes from the same homeworld. Even nonsapient versions exist, though for obvious reasons only sapient ones are players. The primary indicator of physical capabilities is size, followed by 'ability to do anything other than be a giant slime', which is usually taking a more standard playeroid form or the aforementioned weird ability stuff. Slimes capable of mimicking a normal playeroid form indefinitely long without strain were the majority of the players I got shinycams for, but five or six were just sapient blobs and two or three looked chibi-style.
