So if you've been playing for a while, you've probably figured out a bunch of tricks with your Aspect mechanics. Maybe something interesting you've learned with aspect freestyling, or a cool application of a default game ability. If you've got any custom moves you'd like to catalogue or share, let us know!
00:50 spacetimeCounselor okay one thing i just want to mention that isn't hella relevant but is SO COOL 00:50 spacetimeCounselor does anybody here use the Hands&Pockets modus 00:50 spacetimeCounselor like that one for defeating the whole point of a modus 00:51 spacetimeCounselor well if you ever roll hope i suggest you try to alchemize one because there's this super cool [Eject] exploit our Grace uses 00:51 spacetimeCounselor she used it against me at the scratch earlier but i was just reminded of it 00:52 spacetimeCounselor [Eject] removes the item from the abstraction space and gives it a velocity and stuff 00:52 spacetimeCounselor but with hands&pockets if you're holding on to the thing you ejected then you can basically hang on and go flying in the direction launched 00:53 spacetimeCounselor it takes mangrit or [female equivalent i don't even know] to keep your grip but it's SO COOL 00:53 spacetimeCounselor like you can change direction midair by captchaloguing it again and ejecting it midflight 00:54 spacetimeCounselor so yeah if you can get hold of that modus when you're hope try it out, it kicks ass 00:54 spacetimeCounselor that's all i have to say on the matter
I pestered SF about it and she's been using it to basically turn her high natural casting ability into a strifing technique- [Eject] doesn't use a lot of Pluck, so she can make minute adjustments to her trajectory on the fly and basically fly around on a Hope-fueled rocket made of pluck. We're calling this one [No Release], unless that's some other ability, I can never remember. [No Release] is especially useful in combat- SF uses a couple of tricked-out hatchets and does all kinds of fancy double jumping, dive slashes, and dash attacks to exploit the velocity rules for weapon power- effectively letting her function as a combat class.
So what's everybody else got? Any custom moves to share?

Space is really easy to weaponize even outside the normal combat abilities. [Frogjump] the random rock and choose the destination above the enemies. You get normal Echeladder Elevation for this, contrary to the popular rumour. This tactic is called [Over Your Head]
You can cast [Galactic Punt] on your weapons to make enemies fly away (magnification of velocity, Space can do this). yes, you can play homerun with Ogres. yes, at higher Pluck expense the velocity is close to supersonic. Yes, that means you can use any specibus with [Hardy] or [Unbreakable] variety to one-hit kill Lich Queens.

My friend in my first game, a space player, freestyled a move where he used his deck of dagger cards (he had cardkind and combined his deck of cards with a knife) and launched his whole set at high speed, shredding the group of imps in front of us. He called the move [52 card pickup].
Problem was his cards had to be picked up individually because of his one-at-a-time specibus letting him pick up anything he can hold as long as he picked them up one at a time.
It was hell for him to take his jar of jellybeans, since the jar is a seperate object until combined with the jellybeans in the sylladex, and most kinds automatically combine things that have things in them.
Most meaning all kinds but his.
He did abuse it to take things from locked things once he got his mangrit high enough to lift them.

The basics of a lot of Flesh healing is that you can patch things back together, but not completely restore what was lost to full. It's kinda like the bastard child of Blood "healing" and Life healing. In terms of Mechanics, it's kinda like healing them, but then giving them a penalty to their Vial size for a little bit. However, if you try and heal someone at full health, it actually gives them a form of "temperary gel" that expands their vial, but the extra size goes away once they lose that health. I managed to freestyle an ability called [Cigotuvi's Regeneration] that means I can reflexively respond to an attack by healing myself right before an attack strikes me to take advantage of this. Basically, I get to pretend to be a Mist player in terms of defense. Except i's not anywhere near as pluck-efficient. And I simply leave a lot of viscera everywhere, instead of doing something cool like exploding into fire. But it means that I have something to do with my Pluck during battle (most the time, I just mundane strife everything to death, and use abilities on the corpses any myself afterwards).

The general gist of Doom is decaying and poisoning things So a freestyle ability I like the call it Touch of Doom Its literally just decaying stuff Next thing is exploiting an ability for extra Pluck The Deeper You Go increases most of your stats the closer you are to death It works on percentages so the higher your health cap is the stronger the ability You get this early on however you can pretty much ignore it at first From what Ive experienced as a Knight of Doom the bonus only starts really mattering partway through the Earthsea Borealis stage To be specific it seemed to start mattering right around when the Knell is rung by the Nightmare Heir I only experienced using this ability once so dont quote me on that Alternatively if you reach God Tier is starts mattering straight away cause of the huge buffs you get from it but you usually dont reach God Tier that early in my experience Plague Doctor heals you by ejecting Doom essence or something I dont even know This is important because you can focus this into a laser which is so cool you dont even know This is really pluck expensive however this is partially nullified by The Deeper You Go More on this later Oh yea and before I forget Plague Doctor is one of the last abilities you get so you cant do this for a while Essentially what I do is stop caring about damage and use Plague Doctor when Im too low Just gotta watch out for attacks that deal fixed percentages of health and make sure I dont get hit by any singular powerful attacks when Im high on health What makes this tactic even better is that The Deeper You Go increases your Pluck capacity Turns out increasing your Pluck capacity by X increases your current Pluck by X too Using abilities expends the Pluck I get from The Deeper You Go first This means I can severely reduce the cost of Plague Doctor through The Deeper You Go This tactic isnt enough to completely nullify the cost of Plague Doctor until your health cap is as big as a planet so you cant use it endlessly until you start getting God Tier and whatever Man this yellow is getting obnoxious to read Maybe Ill swap it out for something

During my session, I had to freestyle some Vo d abilities, seeing as some of mine just wouldn't work. Then again, my session was glitched as fuck and I'm still not seeing the end of it, even after defeating the Black Knight.
- I freestyled [N D m ge] after remembering the idea of V id is to erase stuff. Basically, it erases your ability to take damage. That sounds like it'll be OP, but the fucking thing is acting on a pretty short timer for whichever reason. When the timer is over, you return to normal. Also, you can still get killed by stuff that attacks your body and not your Health Vial (like being dipped in lava or being brutally skinned alive and having your limbs torn off by the mandibles of a Scarab Underling)
- I had the idea of [ o Li it] after remembering the damage limit that some RPGs put on you - when [ o Li it] is active, you're totally unaffected by damage caps. (Sburb can cap your damage to ~999999 after calculating it if it goes way off the hook. When you have a really good weapon and you throw in Fraymotif and Roleplaying bonuses, you can reach the cap pretty easily.) However, like [N D m ge], it acts on a timer, and it can also work against you if you're fighting really strong enemies, because the damage enemies does is not affected by caps either. It also affects your Vitality cap, meaning that while it's active, if you heal, you can get more Vitality Gel than your maximum.
- [N T mer ] basically erases every timer of whatever it is cast on. It's really pluck-expensive, but it is so fucking handy. After becoming God Tier, I managed to cast [N D m ge] and [ o Li it] on me at the same time, then use [N T mer ]. I think this insane combo is the only thing that allowed me to finish the game with everybody else being dead.
- [ o Sta il ty] just causes the target to lose its balance for a second or two and trip over. It looks silly, but that's one of the things that helped me Solo the Black King. Tripped him over and over when he tried to use his really powerful attacks.
- [N Wo ds] is more or less an healing spell. What does it do? "erase" wounds.
- [ o L ck] was something I freestyled on the spot to deal with our Light Player, who caught Questant’s Lament and started serving the White Queen. Basically, it erased its Luck - this is the only way we had to defeat him, as he would dodge everything just as luck would have it.
- [C de Era u e] is pretty polyvalent, powerful, and dangerous. In short, you can erase part of the game's code using it. I was tempted to use to defeat the most powerful enemies I met, but advised against it as it would likely fuck with events that need some important bosses defeated and shit like this. I only used it once, to erase the script obfuscating everything about and around me, as nobody managed to get what I was writing for a while and couldn't even help me fighting Underlings, as they wouldn't see anything. Seems like it didn't fix everything.
- And finally, [ Barri ]. Basically, it erases everything in range's potential to be a barrier, allowing you to smash through ANYTHING. Yes, ANYTHING. Even DISTANCE, you can actually SMASH YOUR WAY THROUGH SPACE. When my Space player reached the Black King before me, I used this and SMASHED THROUGH SPACE to reach her, saving her from a devastating Truck-Punch from the Black King. Man that was just so fucking badass. Okay she got angry at me for a bit but it was okay after.
She still died during the fight.
I also saw my Time player use something called [Into Next Week], where he punched an underling so hard we saw it falling down from the sky the following week, while we were taking a break at the same spot. The also used this ability to defeat our Questant’s Lamented Light player temporary - He came back a few weeks later and we had to deal with him again. I think that time, the Time Player punched him into NEXT MILLENNIA.(OoC : Post copy-pasted from sburbunofficial.proboards.com/thread/485/ability-index?page=3. Somehow I didn't notice this topic before, or I messed up spectaculary when posting.)

You know how Heart players with certain classes or an ability I don't remember can take a shiny at range and Princes/Bards can top that by doing a pretty much do a full-blown soul removal and kill the thing it was removed from, and that more common ability which directly weaponizes a shiny? There was a Waste of Heart who freestyled something similar to that put together on viewcast a few *pieces* ago.
It basically range-grabbed all the shinies of all the things in the area and then weaponized them all at the same time and flung as many of them as possible at a target, creating a field of shiny death made of shinies, the more entities the more horrific the carnage. He managed to lure a large enemy into a field of grass where a consort village with hoarding problems (don't ask, weird quest, wasn't focused on it) was sitting and promptly killed the problem with tons of blades made from the souls of stuff. He called it [Heart-Stabbing Barrage], which was fairly blatant but got the point across.
His cataclysm happened during the final battle with the Black King, along with something that is arguably the berserk trigger equivalent for Heart players. He got the Black King into one of those huge patches of forests and crops on the Battlefield intending to knock him over by stabbing him a billion times in the lower leg, and accidentally excessively over-casted, complete with a metric ton of [ A Strong Heart ] on top of it to make the hits repeat themselves. There happened to be a large army nearby. And it reached the shinies of a lot of objects. Like several castles, and the soldiers inside. He luckily managed to not drive the range far enough to hit the Skaian Shiny and risk exploding the battlefield or Prospit and causing flailception orbital drop, though it was really close and he was bonked in the face by a Dersite rook's club to stop him from extending the casting area any further. Completely nuked the Waste's pluck for the battle and entire short rest of the session but severely wounded the BK and the players made it out alive.
There's also this Flux/Dreams/Rain custom unite synchro called [Fix Fic] which basically does a more controlled version of the Dreams berserk trigger and abuses flux and rain abilities to allow it to do some weird shenanigans. If sufficient quantities of rainbow bullshit and items are applied this can do basically anything those aspects could do, but tends to invert the 'more controlled' part as well as fill the other two players with a lot of crazy. Pluck cost is through the roof for rain and dreams but for the flux player it costs really little for some reason.
There was also this Breath player hellbent on breaking his way into Skaia without being allowed to and went godtier and tried repeatedly moving the cloud typhoon away with Breath powers. Skaia did not approve. Eventually he figured out how this worked and created an ability based on it called [Skies of Skaia]. It's basically a wall of swirling violent wind that violently tosses back anyone or anything trying to get through it. It's way cheaper when cast to protect objects from specific external influences rather than just out in the open or to block a hall. It also doubles as a Breath-based scrying ability in that it grabs any clouds that come inside and turns them into Skaian prophecy clouds. Works pretty well in combination with Mist's [Sculpt the Haze] to grab clouds and shove them in to prophet them up them drag them out. The clouds remain prophecy clouds when removed even if they rain, and the effect can spread, so be warned if you release one of these into your Land if it has large bodies of water unless you want oceans of prophecy.
