I'm not quite at the point where I'll be needing this information yet - not urgently, anyways. But it's better to ask now, than to wait until the session's won and hope someone can give me an answer before we need to head through the door.
What items can reliably be carried between sessions? I doubt that stuff like end-game items and godtier hoodies will make it through. But how about basic gear? Could I bring yarn or computers that I alchemized through? Can I bring any clothes-puters through at all, or are computer-goggles and headsets going to get left behind?
Basically, the more I know about this, the better I figure I can prepare for my next session.

You can bring back anything you can find in the home planet area. The unalchemized things, really. And sometimes things get left behind, because you can't actually choose something to bring back, you just come to in your new dwelling place and the things are there. I usually buy/steal anything I'm missing. The only things that are reliable is your strife specibus weapons, an instrument, and a computer. All unalchemized. So, the answer to your questions would all be "No"

Items of sentimental value- A necklace or bracelet for example- will go with you. Very basic weapons that haven't been mixed with anything else also go with you. A normal computer, not clothesputer, can also go along.
However, you can't bring high-end stuff. I imagine that applies, even if it DOES have sentimental value for whatever reason. Clothing sort of just...Resets I guess? I started my second session in the same stuff I started my first in at any rate.

The clothing reset is actually kind of annoying after a while. Even if Sburb does resize everything to fit (thank fuck for that), my sense of style has changed a bit in the last twenty odd years since I first started playing. Hope nobody was wearing anything awkward when they entered the medium for the first time.
And yes, unalchemised items of sentimental value stay with you, particularly if they're items of clothing or unalchemised specibi, weapons or modi.

Sburb doesn't particularly care about sentimental value or whatnot, last time I checked. If something was not alchemized, it will carry along. if it was, it won't. It's kind of easy as that. Or at least, it /used/ to be like that. I've been looking around and it may be that that sort of behavior is being patched in. I am counting the days before some glitch causes something in the carry-over script to go haywire and someone finds out that his beloved necklace is now an octopus.
The exception to this is unique items though. No matter how attached you grew to yur friend's pendant, it's not going to carry over. Tough luck.

Also, the strife specibus you got in the game stays with you, with the most basic weapon in it. I got fancysantakind from my first Imp strife, and i have it still.
also, i always start with one nuke and one piece of uranium in my sylladex, cause i started my first game with them.
some of your stuff can be replaced, like your ipod if the world had no apple, or you can have a PC instead of the laptop if the world you are on hadn't invent mobile computers for some reason. It is quickly fixable with alchemy, but still.
