I was initially pleased with my Elemental modus. Despite sounding like arbitrarily-assigned classical element rock-paper-scissors nonsense, it actually assigns items to cards based on mass and properties, and to retrieve an item, you have to withdraw it with sufficient others for a chemically valid combination, and the ejection velocity is based on the vigour of the reaction. As a result, I believed that it was awesomely scientific, and that that was really all there was to say on the matter. However, after entering, I need to free up some cards, so I take out various items, until extracting my Protoman figure from my Lithium card, and my Manga Encyclopaedia, covered in annotations by one of my best (albeit slash-pairing obsessed) friends, from my Fluorine card. The modus has to send it on a precise trajectory directly into my unprototyped sprite, and now I'm stuck with Protomangasprite. This helmeted absentee is never around, unless he pops in with an annoying whistle (the most in the way of communication I've ever had from him) to bash you around with his shield, long bishounen blonde hair flowing behind him, and unless you slide under him he'll grab your communication device of choice and start sending amorous advances in your name to whoever is online and of the same gender. Consequently, I'm now significantly less pleased with my modus.

I'm still happy with my Ritual modus (for the uninitiated, you do a small ritual whenever you want an item - like hum a tune, say 'Hastor' three times, do a small dance, etc), but unfortunately the ritual is randomised every time. I recall a time in my first session where I had to get my jet pack out while standing on the edge of a cliff, being chased by an Ogre - but the ritual was taking three steps backwards. ...Yeah. Obviously it ended up alright though. Friend of mine stuck my mangled corpse on my quest bed.

my (admittedly old) Modus was inspired by old school RPGs, or at least that is what it said on the back of the box. it is a "Encounter" Modus. stuff that gets captchalogued gets assigned a "level", and when you take something out it spawns a "Monster" with the properties of the item. you have to kill the resulting "Monster" to get your item, leaving it behind like Underlings. a higher level spawns a stronger "Monster", but the leveling assignment has been bizarrely vague so far. it is not quite as bad as it sounds, but I have given up captchaloguing weapons.(never capthalogue something really big or dangerous. just... no.) very useful in a pinch though, since the spawned "Monster" will commonly attack enemies instead of you. some of their attacks are less harmful and more helpful, most healing items will turn into little generic sixteen bit fairies like those from those old video games.
a "fun" example was pretty early on in this session. before I really got listening to my whisperings I had a tendency to stuff my deck with these little clockwork soldiers that our "Smith" had alchemized and sent to everyone. i would pull them out and watch as the resulting "Monsters", which were tiny mechanical ants, swarmed whatever was close. scared the hell out of the Underlings, but I could never gather up enough to kill an "Ogre."
i did alchemize it with a "Fate" charge once, making the "Random Encounter" Modus... which was more trouble than it was worth. just chilling in your dwelling spire and you get up to get a soda when BOOM, Emocrystal Unicorn gnawing on your face.

Mine is a old Queue Modus not working very well I got from Sis. It tends to be sometimes irresponsive, needing me to prompt it several times like Arraign, and also tends to propel the item at the top of the deck rather than the one at the bottom or propel the correct item in the wrong direction or even propel the wrong item in the wrong direction at random. It's currently filled with knifes so I can defend myself when my glitched Sword is locked in "tissue mode", "cheap LCD game mode" or "cardboard box mode". I also took Sis' modii before I destroyed her room on accident, but they are rather weird and I don't really get them. They are also pretty old and don't always have a name displayed.
-One of them turned my cards grey, and when I tried to put a item in them, it resulted in some kind of card-shaped safe. I captchaloged the card-safe, resulting in another card safe that made an hole through the ground and crushed a Ohgodwhat that busted open a window. I was still able to carry it around without much problems, it didn't feel that heavy.
-Another one resulted in purple, pink and blue cards with stripes. The items weren't displayed, and when I touched the portion of the card were they were supposed to be, there was a weird scent I couldn't identify.
-A third nameless one resulted in blue cards, and turned the items into cards of various sizes I had to arrange so they could fit together. Fun, but not really useful when you have to launch knifes at enemies coming at you.
-Yet another one made my Sylladex into tons of cards with random colors, and switching when I put stuff in it. Couldn't retrive my items without getting them to launch through the walls. (and, hopefully, toward Imps.)
On the named Modii side, I have found Hash Map, Tree, Connect Four, Recipe, and other I have never seen before, like Blockus, Camera, Hunk Rump, Hard Drive, CD, Sleuth, and Pool.

My annoying modus is called Mannequin Modus officially, though informally I often refer to it as Tease Modus. Basically, when an item is captchalogued, it gets turned into some kind of piece of clothing or accessory, where it is then placed upon a mannequin. I can attempt to control the type it ends up as by pretending to put the item on as a piece of clothing. I can then uncaptcha it by pretending to remove the article of clothing that it is. Really good for small items, which can end up as things like pins attached to a different piece.Less good for for large items, which can end up with me accidentally un-captcha-ing everything attached to/layered over that piece of clothing (athough I've turned this to my advantage before, by attaching "pins" representing ammo to the weapon's article).

I use the Log modus.
You can retrieve any item at any time, but each card can only hold ten different items. Let's say that you have Items A-J logged onto Card A. If you try to captchalogue Item K into Card A, it will fail, as all ten slots on the card are filled. It will instead be captchalogued into Card B and logged onto it. As another disadvantage, you cannot have Items A-J in your sylladex at any time. Putting one into another card will fail, as it is already logged onto a different card in the deck.
Simple but frustrating.

File modus.
Large space, but it is too difficult with more things.
Auto mode puts files in files, sorting your captcha'd things by similarity.
Manual requires you to do whatever as long as it has some form of order or you will suck so bad st finding things.
I just sorted it into "weapons", "healing things", "food", "to alchemitize", and "buff food".
Life made easier, and is slightly faster than that just grab whatever one because you don't have to find it in your stack of random things.
Bad news as you have to touch a floating interface to get your things, but that is getting used to fast.
Aaaaaand used to it now.
Beforehand: drum modus. You had to play a small gather of hits with the last one on the card you want. Each card gave you a new drum or hi hat or whatever, ended up with so many drums.

I managed, somehow, to pick up the Grip Tester modus. The better the item is (maybe it's more expensive in grist costs? I dunno), the harder I have to squeeze the grip test.
The problem isn't the difficult stuff, I'm strong enough for that, no issue. The problem's the dinky little stuff. My mangrit's so high I can't grip the tester light enough to get back my Harlequin Romances (no relation to any sort of clown romance novels, how did that happen I don't even.)

i use the easter egg modus, which isnt as fun as it sounds :C when you captchalogue an items, it turns it into a little easter egg, that is hidden somewhere near where it is destined to be used. a lot of easter eggs will end up around your alchemizer, and some will actually get in it, so i have to fish them out before doing anything. definitely a pain in the ass for a flow player like me, because ill totally get into my groove and not pay any attention to the surrounding area. i feel like i may have missed a ton of eggs, so i spend a lot of time wandering around looking for them.

I use a Mad SCIENCE MODUS, IT INVOLVES acting out like a MAD SCIENTIST TO ACQUIRE your wanted item, or SET IT TO QUICK Mode, in which case YOU HAVE TO ACT like a Mad Scientist AT ALL TIMES TO get the items whenever, WHICH IS ACTUALLY VERY fun but can be RUINED BY STRIFE SINCE if you go out OF CHARACTER EVEN ONCE, you can't get anything UNTIL IT ARBITRARILY DECIDES you are "in character ENOUGH" AGAIN, AND I mean anything, even if SET BACK TO ACT Mode. Still very fun, AND I FIND IT gives me a little ARC BOOST WHEN ACTING the crazy Mad Scientist.
ORIGINAL ME USED AN Elemental Formula Modus, which INVOLVED ARRANGING ATOMS AROUND to form an outline OF YOUR ITEM. MORE complex ones required more ACCURACY AND ATOMS. THE modus title is slightly MISLEADING TO SOME. (I am a clone, for THE RECORD)

I use the Book Modus, it has a few idiosyncrasies, but I still love it, most of the time; it's an actual book, (kind of like the Wallet Modus) turns everything captchalogued in it into a chapter of text in it, to get something out, I need to read a line from it's chapter out loud.
Here's why it's crappy at times, getting to that. Like I said, I have to read it out loud to get anything out, and if I get interrupted; by, say an ogre punching me, or having the physical embodiment of my inventory ripped out of my hands, or a law player forbidding me to speak mid-sentence, it just hurls my item off into the sunset. And I'd rather not talk about what happens if someone changes anything in the book, or worse, tries to write an item into existence.

I use a Book modus someone gave to me as a gift years ago. It's a bit annoying- I have to highlight the words in the object's name in a book to get it in or out- but it lets me pick up INSANE stuff. Like, say, Rainbow Bullshit. For the record, I think the name is actually something like 'School Reading' or something- not the one that cG uses. And yes, it IS a pain in the ass- you can only use any book once. Soo many books.

Cookie modus man, greatest thing ever. Each one of my items is a chocolate chip on a cookie, I have to eat my way to the item... errr of course sometimes the code leaks out and you end up with cookies that taste like what you're holding so it's not a good idea to carry like rat poison.....
Maybe THATS why I found it in the "previously owned" bin....

I use Missile Array modus and Retrieval modus. Missile Array modus is one of these ones that won't let you get items back - anything you want back will be ejected and transformed into a missile instead. Thankfully, one rain player(he had Black Hole modus ) gifted me Retrieval modus that works like an Array modus, but won't let me pick up anything but c-cards.

oh man my group has some shitty modi
first of all, we started out with nothing. we had to PICK SHIT UP. with our HANDS. ...why is that so difficult, again? i mean, really, i've seen people confused as fuck by that idea
cryo, my client player and our leader (though i've been doing the actual leading because he can't use computers due to corruption), followed uC's advice and managed to smash stuff with cards to FORCE it into the card. he proceeded to make a shitload of cards (which are smaller than ascii made me expect) and alchemize stuff. he made an array modus, but it didn't work. yeah, it did fuckall to help us, and we never did manage to get stuff out of cards without a modus
i eventually combined cryo's useless array modus with a wallet (which was just a fucking wallet jesus christ) to make a working wallet modus. he was actually pretty disappointed by the revelation that it was just storage, and i think he threw his away like an idiot
just before we had to vacate our session ([airstrike ring && black queen's ring] && grimoire, worn by some asshole, yeah we didn't stick around for that), photonic (my server player, cryo's client) combined her wallet modus with a printed-out article about forced perspective. i'll be honest, i can't figure it out, but she does fine with it, being witch of light. the angle and apparent size of whatever you pick up is stored on the card, and you kind of position the card so that it looks like the thing is paused and positioned where you want it. it's pretty useful being able to resize things, but i never know where to be when i pick stuff up
finally, zero ([no class] of void) has the tentacle modus. it's just wallet, but it doesn't work if you aren't corrupted. i don't get why he uses it, i made like 50 spare wallet modi in case we lost any and it's not like it has a useful effect
