I wanted to know just how canon sburbstaff.tumblr.com/post/23071617631 and sburbstaff.tumblr.com/post/23173215571 were being treated in the AU. Are they seen only as a writer's views? Or are they a hard-and-fast "Thing" when dealing with the whisperings? Because part of what I want to include in rA's history is that when she rolled Life in her third session, she really struggled with the aspect. Part of why I want to explain it, metatextually at least, is that she had a Tyrant Mayhem, but unfortunately didn't quite get the whole fact she was supposed to rebel against it, since she had some "Real" character growth prior to the session and just changed her name from "reptilianRebel" to "reptileAdvocate" (Part of it is kind of how she sees rebels ad "Without a cause" while perhaps in the future, she will be gentler in her actions and point out the good of both parts of her Native, especially Bard). She saw the idea of listening to those who were her betters was something she had to do to grow up.

I'm no authority on this but everybody in the irc seems to treat them as canon. Hope this helps.

It does. I just kind of wanted to keep away from using the exact titles of the Mayhems if they weren't a thing. (Like, for example, instead of "Tyrant" she would have said that the Growth seemed contradictory or counterintuitive and hated her or something)

It is... canonish. We will understand what do you mean and will play along (at least, those RP-ers who actually bother to check the additional material). Of course, if your character will complain about their Whisperings, some of our characters would refer to the system, and some will just shrug.
Grinds mentioned the Colours and Mayhems in his work, and he hadn't expanded it yet. It is highly probable that he had read this and decided to roll with it (note that he acknowledges several of IC-written guides as canon - there are links on them in the main work). He is sometimes in the ooc chat, and sometimes he answers the comments on the FaQ or the forum, I would ask him there.

I generally take it as 'somebody wrote it IC, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're right'. So characters can and have referred to it, but nothing stops you from ignoring it if you want to characterise your Whisperings in a way it contradicts.

Thanks to both of you for some additional help.
