Ah, the Guard class. The shieldbearer, the protector, and in the case of Life players, The Amazing Human Shield.
We have many names, and we all have basically the same goal. Make sure the things we're supposed to protect don't get fucked up.
Share your anecdotes and such here, folks. Wondering what exactly "Protecting Time" entails? Ask here. Want to regale us with the time you saved your entire session from armageddon? Share away. Pissed off with a bunch of INGRATES who wouldn't UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS THAT YOU'RE SAVING THEIR ASSES?!? Gripe here.
Future Note: Wow, man, you sure you're not bitter?
Current Note: Shut the fuck up.

I was a dame of time in my second session. I don't know if that counts 13ut it's a defender class.
It was a lot of fun 13eing in a session where everyone was at least teal or higher. Of course I needed their complete and total cooperation, 13ut really who wants to listen to a fucking pukeblood who doesn't know what she's talking about, even if she's doing everything she can to protect the timestream from their horrible fucking decisions, no there's nothing wrong with all the 13odies piling up she can deal with it on her own. And the muse of heart, oh god the muse of heart, resplendantSubmariner if you're 12eading this you can pail a 13ag of 12usty knives, maybe you enjoy fucking with people's souls 13ut I hope someday you get a taste of what it's like cleaning up afterwards.
Yeah I'm not 13itter either. 12eally.

Hmm... I think you're going to need to go talk to your Time player BS. The forums have a system to keep things temporally linear - your future self should not be able to comment on your posts like that without Time player assistance.
On a different note, I've never been a Guard, but I have been a Dame of Life. The whole 'human shield' bit is also a pretty familiar thing to me. I was pretty good at it.

I was Guard of Might, sixth session. Meeting challenges head on synergized nicely with human shield. Might was uncomplicated. Ah, memories...

STATEMENT: DROPPING FROM ORBIT OVER YOUR ALLIES WITH ALL 4 LEGS SPLAYED OUT TO CREATE COVER ON LANDING, AND PROCEEDING TO ANNIHILATE EVERYTHING AROUND YOU WITH HEAVY CANNON FIRE, THEN LEAVING IMMEDIATELY AFTER, IS REALLY FUCKING COOL. >o]

I'm also doing Dame of Life, and have taken a few hits, but I've interpreted by class as "protecting things by making them stronger over time", slowing improving the ability of everyone around me until they don't need protections anymore.
I've also got a Guard of Blood in my session. I don't think he can actually die. A Giclops punched him in the face, and he didn't get so much as a bruise. The only time I've seen him injured was when a batch of Nitroglycerin went off in his face.

I've got a question, what exactly would a Guard of Mist be guarding? I rolled it but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it.

Mist is "all the things. All of them". So. Guard everything. Simple.

I've got a question, what exactly would a Guard of Mist be guarding? I rolled it but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it. "Guard everything" is one way to do it, or you could just guard players/NPC's WITH everything via Smoke and Mirrors. You could also try being the ultimate decoy- try confusing enemies into attacking you instead of the person they're going after by fogging. Actually, mist is about being everything else in addition to yourself, right? Then be everything else, and take the hits instead of them. Or you could redirect attacks at others to "everything else". Is there a buff-others version of Variations? If there is, use that.
