Question: One of the other players in my session has a Land of Moonlight and Pumpkins. This, for some reason or another, freaked him the hell out and headed for his first gate as soon as possible (thus throwing him onto my doorstep seconds after I entered the medium myself). All I could get out of him was Pumpkins are things of EVIL. There is non-zero chance I'm going have to enter there myself. How Buggered is this situation

Pumpkins are bugged. They aren't temporally or spatially stable - basically, they don't stay in one spot and even Time and Space players can't keep them in place or track where they've gone.
Which means that your co-player's land is the land of Moonlight and Nothing Being Where It Was Five Seconds Ago, No Not Even The Consorts. Basically: he's completely justified in freaking out, try to avoid going into his land if you can.

...What. How the hell is that even possible? That makes no bloody sense at all (... which would make sense in this mess of a game. SBURB!). Anywho- I'm going to have to head there sooner or later, knowing my luck. Any suggestions on how to survive?

well. the easiest piece of advice would be "evacuate the Land, no Player should be there", alas it is only short-term.
long term handling of the situation would require attention of the Players of Time and Space, and if you have them, Void and/or Mist.
Spacetimes can stabilize unstable extensions of the code that makes the gourds. Voidies can Null some pieces of code with [Matrices Locking], but that will also make you unable to visit the dungeons, and you don't want it. Mist applied to Pumpkins can make them more substancial and anchored in reality. that is optimal solution.
Good luck, man.
