so i'm in my third session and i rolled scout of flow, which on paper seems like an excellent thing. i mean, combining neverending motion and exploration just makes so much sense, right? the problem is i think it makes too much sense
two of my co-players' prototypings were a dragonfly and, i shit you not, a coffee bean plant. the end result is that most of the underlings are fast buzzy things that flit around like crack addicted assholes, and i find myself having to constantly up the pace, initiating pretty much every strife with [Ludicrous Speed] into [Burn Baby Burn] into [Chariots Of Fire] and just running around like a maniac leaving flame trails behind me
the problem is the fact that i can't slow down, i'm exploring my land at a frankly ridiculous rate and even when i duck into someone else's land it feels like i have the ebonpyres around their houses and consort villages mapped out way too quickly. i'm doing everything i can to explore at a slower pace, and it's gotten to the point where our sylph is getting genuinely worried about me dragging on strifes for so long with [And It Don't Stop] and wearing myself out
i've tried buddying up for ruin exploration, but it turns into me just blazing ahead of my partner, and it's hard enough staying alive without someone dragging you behind them or charging forward in a whirlwind of fire. i'm scared i'm going to start pushing the other players in my session too far too fast; i was the first to cross the red line on my land and the first to perform off the knell, and i sure as hell don't want to be the one reaching the battlefield when everyone else is halfway through the session
the only good thing about all this is i'm sleeping remarkably well. apparently moving forward at a constant velocity is exhausting. at the same time i don't want to be this tired all the time, especially since our grace's cataclysm hasn't happened yet and i don't want to be physically and emotionally drained for it
so yeah, i need advice. how can i try and slow down my exploration without hurting my ARC or upsetting my whisperings? at the rate things are going i'm almost starting to feel like an involuntary speedrunner, and i haven't even gotten good at using [Disco Inferno] or [Trailblazer] yet
(on another note: this is going to sound silly, but does anyone have tips for building confidence? i can at least sort of freestyle rap, but i tend to get shy and locked up around other players, which is kind of gimping me in team strifes. i had the same issue with rage and yelling, but i guess i need to work back into the groove)
