So the game is just great about lettin us successfully duplicate edible things exactly as intended innit?
Ha
hahahaha
So, what were the weirdest/worst things you guys made on accident, and what were you going for? Also any pleasant surprises you got?
Mine: Weirdest- Attempted to duplicate fried gator. It ended in literal tears. Somehow got Crocodile Tears instead. Mighta had something to do with having Croc consorts at the time? Would that even be a thing
Best- Attempted Coca-cola cake, got what i wanted and MORE Magic Fizzy Cola Cake: any cake||Biophosphorwhatsitcola && Magical Mystery Topping( Chocolate wizard || Cherry Syrup && Any fruit flavored candy && Maple Syrup) +300 Pluck and fills your vial about 1/2 way. Tastes fucking fabulous

What I wanted was bacon. What I did was install the bacon hack.
Have you ever had a situation where everybody but you can successfully make bacon and you're stuck looking at bacon made out of lasers? It was frustrating- We figured it was probably just a Breeze thing though.
That said, my secondary strife specibus is now baconKind, so it wasn't a complete loss I guess.

I tried to duplicate a cheesecake once. Sounds nice and simple, right? It was literally a cake-shaped lump of cheese that came out of the alchemiter. It wasn't even good cheese. You know the stuff they make string cheese out of? It was that. Ew. I once got the most awesome thing out of pure luck though. As in, I was alchemizing blind. I took a box of somewhat-stale donuts that was in my domicile, changed the last two letters in the code to find out what would happen, and ended up with a Never-Ending Donut Fractal. It was like this but every circle was a donut. Different kinds too! Sprinkled, glazed, chocolate... It was delicious.

@ml: Shit man that's tragic. But baconkind sounds like an amazing spec. @wl what's wrong with string cheese
donut fractal sounds amazing, do you know if it's gotta be a specific donut you gotta use to get that? I might hafta play around some later.

Ugh, in-game food.
I haven't had anything really weird happen with it, jUst tUrn oUt bad. I miss deep-fried scarab legs so mUch, especially the really big ones U get if U manage to get to the joint early. The worst tasting thing I ever made was an attempt to alchemize those. They looked perfect, bUt tasted like pain and horseshit.
The best thing I ever made was spices for a laUghbeast roast. Somehow they tUrned oUt complementing the meat jUst perfectly. They also made good bribes for the Dersite and Prospitian chefs, so here's what I threw together:
All-purpose Spice || Ground Cinnamon && Mystery Flavor (The third-place prize in the Speed-Eating competition. May only be available to those with carnivorous Consorts, I'm not sure), then || the result with Pretty Leaves (found on any forested Land) to get I Will Not Make YoUr TongUe Explode.

It's okay one packet at a time and if you actually pull it off into strings, but I really can't stand it any other way. It's just too rubbery and weirdly soggy and has a dull flavor.
As for the donuts, that's the weird part. It was literally the whole thing, box and all, that I poked around with the code for. It was half-full and the ones left looked a couple days old, if it matters. They were chocolate glazed, some with sprinkles and some without.

Well...
The weirdest thing that should be food: I tried to make beef lasagna.
Alchemised lasagna && ground beef, seems straightforward enough.
The result was... almost alive. It looked like a pile of moss with cow horns everywhere 8|
The best thing is the result of alchemising gushers || one of the "discworld" books and then the result && coffee beans.
Caffeinated Knurd Aneurysm Gushers. They saved my life more than once.

I can alchemize food about as well as I can cook it. In other words I can't make food worth shit no matter what medium I'm using to make it.
I have been trying FOREVER to alchemize some nice simple original flavor chips. That SHOULD be easy, right? Once I figured out how to MAKE chips in the first place without it looking almost alive I've managed to alchemize EVERY OTHER FLAVOR (I only like original) and probably a few new flavors. Seriously, what's up with shrimp cocktail flavor? Is that seriously a thing?
The best surprise though was when I was getting completely fed up with the whole process and chucked a tin of tomato soup and cinnamon at it out of sheer frustration. It was actually delicious.
Also, being vegetarian kinda limits my choices of edible food

Worst thing I ever made.... we had these strawberry hard candies that I loved pre-Sburb, and I was desprate for some during my second session, they had fruity-liquid centers. I was TRYING to make those, combined Straberry && Hard Candy Pile, which should ahve worked in theory... and somehow ended up with a pile of red hard candies that were actually rocks covered with the nastiest strawberry powder I've ever tasted. I guess the candy I used was stale or something, but I nearly broke a tooth on one as I tried to spit it out (they were that hard). They did make nice projectiles for my slingshotkind using coplayer though.
One of the best things was what was called a Supreme Taco Bar. I made it combining Crunchy Taco && Granola Bar (it was a dare...). It's this bar-shaped taco that never drips and restores roughly a quarter of your health. The composition of the bar depends on what was in your original taco so you can make it to taste. It's amazing.

CL: Shrimp cocktail is a perfectly normal flavor of chips. Not one of my favorites, bUt still decent. As for herbivoroUs options, I have a coUple of recipes. PM me for details if Ur interested.
Back on topic, I once tried making something oUt of Weird BUgs on the off-chance I woUld get lUcky. Don't. Anything they get mixed with tastes disgUsting even if it's so dilUted it loses its disease-cUring effect.

White sauce alchemizes perfectly, like, it's surreal. But I already had like 50 baggies of it in my freezer so whatever. I don't even like white sauce that much.
My worst experiment was was trying to make pork roast. It looked amazing, exactly how my sister made it. It also tasted like granola bars. It was more the disappointment than the bland taste.
My best was probably when I made barbecue ribs for everyone right at the end of my last session. Best ribs ever I tell you. I can't remember what I alchemized though.

I think my worst blunder happened during my first session when i tried to make a pie by alchemizing all the relevant ingredient together. Lots of wrong combinations, managed to find one that made a pie-looking object, except it exploded.
Probably my crowning culinary moment of awesome was that one time I discovered the bacon hack by mistake.

Me and GV used to cook together all the time before we discovered her love for flaming food. In retrospect, I should have noticed earlier. Turns out it wasn't a coincidence that everything we made caught alight. As far as success goes, I have to admit sburb opens up infinite new avenues for cooking. Using the alchemiter I can and usually do quite literally make everything bacon flavored.

Aw, c'mon Carl! I told you it was my aspect that did that, not me! I did learn to enjoy it though, I'll give you that. c:
Like my buddy there said, all the food I make is flaming. After that first session I've had to actually add firey-things to the recipe to do that, but it's worth it! I even managed to make burning water once; that was a particularly crazy meal.
