Hey! wanderingDreamer here! I found this forum... Er... "The fora" quite recently, this place seems pretty cool, so I thought I'd join! Just one little question. What's Sburb?

Hoo boy.
First off, welcome to the fora. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
As to what Sburb is... It's a game. A game that warps reality and puts you in a universe of its own devising, where you gain a mythological role and powers and a destiny to match. It's a very dangerous game, filled with monsters and traps and bullshit. It's also glitched up the ass. The main glitch is the ultimate reward. Instead of being able to access it, you are forced to replay the game again and again, with new roles and lands and people who you haven't met.
Obviously, the best course of action would be to take the disk and smash it into pieces with a hammer instead of playing it for the first time. But, you're destined to play. Doing so will put you in an offshoot timeline, and those all end in death. So. You need to play the game. We're here to help. Ask any questions you might have.

Wow. That sounds neat on paper. Terrifying in real life. If it's so glitchy, why don't the developers patch it? I mean, if people's lives are at risk, would that risk them getting sued or something? The concept itself is as bizarre as the name. ... ... ... ...Sorry, focus lapsed. I came to while being dubbed the Limbo King. ...Meh, no one else has any answers, might as well ask here. Any idea why this dream isn't complying to the normal laws of dreams? I mean, I can hardly fly, I'm have to take lessons, in fact. People don't do what I expect them to, I lost in checkers the other day, The people(who aren't human) are static, acting as though they have a life that goes on when I'm not here, the geography doesn't change, and I can't make stuff spontaneously appear. In fact, the only law that it complies with is weird stuff happening if I lose focus. I've got several hours before I wake up, might as well wait for my own subconscious's response before I take this to my school's shrink.

That's the thing, man, no one knows who the developers are. And if we did, we wouldn't sue. Oh no, that would not be enough. But I digress.

Hello, welcome to the fora.
Also, it doesn't conform to your so-called "Laws of dreaming" because you are in the kingdom of prospit. Which, while a dreaming moon, is still subject to whatever passes for physics in the medium.
You are in your dreamself, an extra body used when you play SBURB, I'm not very good at explaining past that.

...Okay, let's see if I got this right. The quasi-logical reasons for this nonsense occuring are: 1. Whenever I sleep I play Body Swap with a clone on an alien moon in a realm that runs on video game physics 2. I'm insane. or 3, which is looking less and less likely by the minute: This is a series of lucid dreams that somehow continue while I am awake. ...I'm not liking my options here all that much, to be quite honest.
If you're curious, the "Laws of Dreams" basically are how lucid dreams, like I thought this was, operate. Hands have a tendency of being transparent/clip through things, losing focus in your dream makes it become normal briefly, leading to weird stuff occurring if you regain control, stuff like that.
...Okay, let's assume the fact I agree that this isn't just some crazy dream(And I'm not a nut). My being on Prospit means my involvement in some session or another of Sburb is a foregone conclusion, correct? Since Sburb is equal to hell on earth(From what I've gathered thus far from the fora), this means I should be using my forewarning for getting ready. Now, I'm in the game long before any of the other players(I assume the Land of Clockwork and Zephyr is a constant?), this means that, in theory, I can start gaining money, items, and EXP beforehand, correct? Any quests in particular I should be on the lookout for? Any exploits, like "Dancing under the fifth bridge from your tower during an eclipse will rocket you up to the max level"? What should be the IMMEDIATE FIRST THING on my to-do list for this apocryphal planning?
(edit: apocalyptic, not apocryphal.)

WE'RE ALL INSANE HERE, KID. JOIN US. WE HAVE COOKIES. WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPENT BULLET CASINGS....I'm not liking my options here all that much, to be quite honest. WE'RE ALL HERE, FROM DIFFERENT UNIVERSES, BECAUSE IF WE DIDN'T PLAY, WE WOULD DIE WITH THE REST OF OUR CIVILIZATION. EVEN IF YOU PLAY, YOUR RACE IS STILL EXTINCT. OH, AND ANYONE ELSE IN YOUR HOUSE DURING ENTRY IS BROUGHT INTO THE GAME AS NON-PLAYERS. GUESS WHAT THE GAME DOES TO NON-PLAYERS? EVERYONE HERE HAS LOST THEIR FAMILY. WE ALL HATE THIS "GAME". PLATONICALLY. Since Sburb is equal to hell on earth CONGRATS, YOU FIGURED IT OUT THREE WEEKS BEFORE THE MAJORITY OF NEW PLAYERS DO. What should be the IMMEDIATE FIRST THING on my to-do list for this apocalyptic planning? READ "Sburb Glitch FAQ". IT HAS SAVED HUNDREDS OF LIVES. LITERALLY.

Oh! Cookies! Strange coincidence, just got back from helping out in the Royal Kitchens. A chef gave me a pat on the head and a plate of cookies for helping. Mmmm... Cookies...
Wait, everyone in my house dies on entry? Uh... Okay... That sucks.
Ooookay... Sburb Glitch FAQ? Okay... Let's see... Huh. The thing has a ton of --OFFLINE-- chapters. I'll try reading what's available. ... ... ...
...Oh, drat. Forgot to send this. Okay, about a third done with the thirty online chapters. Read in no particular order, based on which ones seemed interesting at the time. Taking notes, such as "Only relax around Biophos-something-or-other crystals" and such. A shame the Dream section isn't up, learning how to collect dream currency would be ever so helpful, especially since stuff I have on me when I wake up, such as my Limbo King crown, don't reappear when I come back.
...So then, I'm apparently subject to a bug that lets me pop up here in my dreamself's body before the game actually starts! Woo.
So then, here's the situation: I am pre-entry, a decent time away from entry since I hadn't heard of Sburb before yesterday, I am in my dreamself for a period of roughly eight hours, and I can, evidently, start side quests.
Oh, and I'll be on here when I remember, and am in my dreamself.

Wait, everyone in my house dies on entry? Uh... Okay... That sucks. FALSE, THE NON-PLAYERS ARE NOT KILLED IMMEDIATELY. THEY ARE MARKED FOR DEATH. THEY WILL DIE, BY ANY POSSIBLE METHOD. NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. THIS IS A FACT, A DESTINED EVENT. I'M SORRY. BUT DURING PRE-ENTRY, ONCE THE FIRST KERNELSPRITE IS RELEASED, A TIMER BEGINS, THAT COUNTS DOWN TO THE START OF THE ANNIHILATION, AND EXTINCTION, OF ALL THE PLAYER'S RACES. THE DOOMSDAY COUNTER. THE GAMES WAY TO GIVE YOU INCENTIVE TO GTFO. THE METHODS THE GAME USES TO CAUSE DOOMSDAY VARY, BUT THE MOST COMMON IS A METEOR SHOWER, WITH THE METEORS INCREASING IN SIZE WITH EVERY MINUTE. BUT IF YOUR PLANET HAS A VERY EFFECTIVE METEOROID DEFENSE NETWORK, THE GAME HAS NO PROBLEM WITH DROPPING THE GODDAMN MOON ON YOUR PLANET. THE GAME WILL GET REALLY CREATIVE WITH THESE FOR SPACE-FARING RACES. SADLY, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO SAVE YOUR RACE. I'M SORRY. MAY [The Grid] INSPIRE US, MAY [The Nu l] OBSCURE US, MAY [The Haze] MULTIPLY US, MAY [The Pulse] DEFEND US, MAY [The Breeze] CLEAR OUR WAY, MAY [The Soul] COMFORT US, MAY [The Groove] DRIVE US, MAY [The Shade] CALM US, MAY [The Wave] GIVE US STRENGTH, MAY [The Break] SHATTER OUR OPPOSITION, MAY [The Blight] CONDEMN OUR ENEMIES, MAY [The Wrath] INTIMIDATE OUR ENEMIES, MAY [The Growth] RESTORE US, MAY [The Voices] FREE US, MAY [The Shine] FAVOR US, MAY [The Word] RESTRICT OUR ENEMIES, MAY [The Path] INFORM US, MAY [The Faith] GUIDE US, MAY [The Beat] AGE OUR ENEMIES, MAY [The World] ENCIRCLE US, MAY [The Drift] DRAW US TOGETHER, AND MAY [The Strife] REJECT OUR FINAL END.

Wait... What if I hid them in that Skaian Magicant thing I read about? If I hid them there, shouldn't they be safe? I mean, in a Skaian Magicant, supposedly, no NPCs can enter. Underlings, Archagents, or otherwise, correct?
Also, I saw something interesting in the castle while delivering something to the Prospitan Archagent. Banners, six of 'em. With strange looking symbols on 'em. Let's see... There was... a green... blue... tentacle-y... orb... thing, something that looked like a cyclone, a blue wave, a yellow sun, a red gear, and a pink stylized Valentine's Day heart. Are these significant in any way?
Also, any idea why I can't seem to find reference to "The Land of Clockwork and Zephyr"?
...Oh! Is it part of a sidequest requiring me to pester random civilians to get information for? Sburb is supposed to be an RPG, right? It's not exactly an RPG unless you have to waltz up to and interrogate random strangers for info.

Kid, this is not a normal RPG. Don't treat it like one. That aside, your idea with the Magicant seems sound, but the problem with that would be finding an entrance. They're not all that easy to locate.

I'm not treating this like a normal RPG. If I was, I'd be running around outside a safe zone trying to get money and grind EXP, maybe bum rush LOCAZ to see what I can see before dying and respawning at the last save point. If this were like a normal RPG, I'd be doing things I wouldn't be doing right now. Like selling my clothes for a Sword of xxxxxxx +1.
And yes, I know, there are no save points, nor respawning.
In other news, lugging around items for people is getting slightly irritating, as well as painful on my dream-arms(Which, I found out, makes my real arms sore), is there any way for me to get a Sylladex? Like, say, I enter the Medium and send a Fetch Modus and some Captchalogue Cards to my Dreamself? Before you ask "How?", Two words: Prospitan Mailwoman. I've met her before. About five days ago. She's scary, man. Of course, that may just be because I tried reading a magazine that was in a pile of magazines that were to be sent. I had no idea anyone armed with a letter opener could be so intimidating.

No offense taken. I'm used to being called a n00b. And she actually seemed happy when I offered to help deliver packages. That said, anything I should be on the... lookout... for...?
...Brrrr. I just got a chill. Like someone was walking across my grave. ...Wait... what's that ringing?... Oh snap, waking up. TTYL
((OOC: To clarify, I'm not actually going anywhere, my guy operates whenever he sleeps. Which is, in his time, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Or, here, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Central Standard Time. Something is ringing near his real self, so he's waking up... This is what I'm supposed to do for OOC posts, right?))
